Inconsistent feedstock, poor coordination between processing stages and unsuitable operating practices can affect how effectively your plant performs.

It’s not just about breaking down a bale. It’s about preparing biomass for the next stage of processing.

• 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏: Bales are manually placed on the conveyor belt.
• 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟐: The shredder processes the bale into smaller, more manageable pieces. Whether it’s a square bale or another bale shape, the right shredding setup helps prepare different types of biomass for further processing.
• 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟑: The shredded material moves into the feeder and is passed on to the next stage.

What does India's comprehensive biomass co-firing policy mean for the future of bioenergy?

In this session, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗞𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘁, 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗧𝗣𝗖 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱, explains the Ministry of Power's policy dated 7 November 2025 and its key blending requirements for coal-based thermal power plants.

📌 𝗡𝗖𝗥: 5% biomass pellets + an additional 2% biomass pellets and/or torrefied MSW charcoal.

📌 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 5% biomass pellets and/or torrefied MSW charcoal.

Effective from FY 2025-26, the policy strengthens the focus on biomass utilisation while opening up opportunities across pellet manufacturing, feedstock supply, and the wider bioenergy value chain.
