On the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, Government Polytechnic Dhenkanal celebrated National Sports Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

As part of the celebration, and in line with the call “Ek Ghanta Khel Ke Maidan Mein”, students actively participated in Kabaddi, Badminton and Volleyball Tournaments, promoting the values of fitness, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship. 💪🏐🏆

🌸 Staff and students paid a "Floral 💐Tribute to Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand" , honouring his extraordinary contribution to Indian sports. 🏑🇮🇳 His remarkable skill, dedication, and passion for hockey continue to inspire generations of sportspersons across the nation.

💪 The 29 Challenge was also conducted, with enthusiastic participants completing 29 push-up & Squats , promoting fitness, discipline, and an active lifestyle.

🎓✨ Exposure Visit & Career Counselling Programme at Govt. Polytechnic Dhenkanal

Today, 93 students of Classes IX & X from Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Dhenkanal, visited Government Polytechnic Dhenkanal for an enriching Exposure Visit and Career Counselling Programme.

The students explored various Laboratories and Workshops and gained insights into Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET), career pathways and the facilities available at the institution. The session also highlighted Sudakshya Scholarship, benefits and opportunities for girl students, Government initiatives for women empowerment, and inspiring success stories of our girl alumni. 👩‍🔧🌟

🎯 The objective of the programme was to provide early career awareness and proper guidance to young aspirants, especially girls, and motivate them to explore technical education as a pathway towards skills, employment and a successful future.
