What a fantastic way to celebrate the International Day of Immunology 2026! 🧬✨

With this year’s theme “Regulatory T Cells: Guardians of Immune Balance,” we had an amazing day full of learning, excitement, and a lot of brain exercise!

A big highlight was the super intense and fun quiz competition conducted by Dr. Pranit Saikia—honestly, it was so engaging that I found myself wishing I were a student again just to participate! 😄 The energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the participants were simply outstanding.

We were also fortunate to have an insightful talk by Dr. Dimpu Gogoi (Scientist C, RMRC-ICMR), who made complex immunology concepts both accessible and inspiring. We were equally honored by the presence of former Professor Dr. P. K. Barua, whose encouragement meant a lot to all of us.

This event was organized by the Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Dibrugarh University, in collaboration with RMRC, ICMR, Lahowal, with generous support from the Indian Immunology Society.

As the Group Admin of the Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, I feel immensely proud and grateful to share that our ANRF-sponsored National Conference “Biotechnology 360°: Integrating Research, Innovation and Industry” was successfully held on 26–27 February 2026 at Dibrugarh University.

This conference was more than an academic event — it was a reflection of teamwork, vision and the growing strength of our Centre.

We were honoured to have the conference inaugurated by our Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jiten Hazarika. The keynote address by Prof. Alak K. Buragohain set the tone by beautifully connecting biotechnology with the broader vision of the bioeconomy and sustainable development.

We were privileged to host distinguished experts from premier institutions across the country — Prof. Ashok K. Varma (ACTREC, Mumbai), Prof. Kunal Roy (Jadavpur University), Dr. Abdul Mabood Khan, Dr. Nilanju P. Sarmah, Dr. Sangeeta Borchetia, Dr. Sibnarayan Datta — along with our esteemed invited speakers Dr. Akhil Ranjan Baruah, Dr. Mayur Mausoom Phukan, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Gogoi and Dr. Bhanu P. Sahu.

A special highlight was the panel discussion featuring Dr. Amrita Kashyap Chaliha, Prof. Manoj Kumar Deka, Mr. Amrit Pritam Bhuyan and Dr. Himadri Barman, which truly bridged the gap between lab research and industry application.

From proteomics to genomics, diagnostics to drug discovery, agriculture to bioenergy, and innovation to entrepreneurship — Biotechnology 360° was experienced in its truest sense.

My heartfelt thanks to every speaker who travelled to Dibrugarh, every participant who presented their research, and especially to our research scholars and students whose dedication made this event possible.
