Mission RHUMI 2024 - India, successfully launched India's first reusable hybrid rocket - “RHUMI 1”

On 24 August, Space Zone successfully launched the rocket from a mobile platform in Thiruvidandhai, Chennai, with the goal of advancing research on global warming and climate change.

The rocket carried three CUBE satellites designed to monitor and gather data on atmospheric conditions, such as cosmic radiation intensity, UV radiation, and air quality.

In addition, it deployed 50 Pico satellites to investigate various atmospheric factors, including accelerometer readings, altitude, and ozone levels, to better understand environmental dynamics.

India's radar-imaging satellite -- RISAT-2 -- on 30 October made an uncontrolled re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere at the predicted impact point in Indian Ocean near Jakarta.

It was India’s first “eye in the sky” to keep surveillance on the country’s borders as part of anti-infiltration and anti-terrorist operations.

RISAT-2 was launched on 20 April 2009 by PSLV-C12 launch vehicle.

Risat-2 satellite carried 30 kg of fuel for an initial designed life of four years. With the proper maintenance of orbit and mission planning by the spacecraft operations team in Isro and by economical usage of fuel, Risat-2 provided very useful payload data for over 13 years.

ISRO's heaviest rocket LVM3 will launch British start-up OneWeb's 36 broadband satellites from the spaceport in Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota on October 23, marking the launcher's entry into the global commercial launch service market.

ISRO's heaviest rocket LVM3 or Launch Vehicle Mark 3 was earlier called the GSLV Mk III or Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III.

"It is the first LVM3-dedicated commercial launch on demand through NSIL,"
The newest rocket is capable of launching a four-tonne class of satellites into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).

Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan ~ 1) officially declared, end of Spacecraft's Life on 3rd October, 2022...

Mangalyaan was launched in 2013 onboard PSLV-C25 as the first interplanetary mission from India, making Isro the fourth space agency in the world to launch such a mission beyond Earth's orbit. The spacecraft was a demonstration mission aimed at establishing that India could design, launch and operate a mission on another world.

On 3rd October, ISRO reported that the orbiter had irrecoverably lost communications with Earth after entering long eclipse period in April 2022 that it was not designed to survive.
At the time of communications loss it was unknown whether the probe had lost power or inadvertently realigned its Earth-facing antenna during automatic maneuvers.

The Mars mission had already exceeded expectations as it remained operational for over eight years when it was designed for a six-month-long mission around Martian orbit.

The mission will be ever-regarded as a remarkable technological and scientific feat in the history of planetary exploration,"
