The Pune Metro Rail Project in Maharashtra is a major urban infrastructure initiative aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving connectivity across the city. Designed to serve more than 6 lakh passengers daily upon completion, the project involves the construction of stations, tunnels and elevated corridors across multiple phases, with minimal disruption to city traffic.

Putzmeister equipment, including the 1407 eSmart and BSF 36, has been used for concrete pumping across the project. Customers involved include Sai Readymix Concrete, Tata Projects, Sathe RMC and Samarth RMC.

The project presented several challenges, including tight urban spaces, coordination of raw material supply, monsoon concreting, fluctuating temperatures, complex soil conditions and stringent safety requirements. Putzmeister equipment supported efficient and reliable concrete pumping across these demanding construction conditions.

Venkateswara Aggregates & Mining Pvt. Ltd. is executing the SRMC Canal Project using Putzmeister SPJ3217K and SPM 500. The project requires approximately 38,000 m³ of shotcrete, of which nearly 29,000 m³ has been completed in just six months, achieving an average production of around 4,850 m³ per month.

One of the key challenges at the site was the presence of water inside the canal. The SPJ3217K’s industry-leading 9 m down-reach capability enabled safe and efficient shotcreting from above the canal, eliminating the need to position the machine inside the water and ensuring uninterrupted progress.

With its reliable pumping system, high-capacity delivery line, fully integrated remote controls and dedicated Putzmeister service support, the machine delivered consistent performance, high uptime and productivity throughout the project.

This successful ex*****on at the SRMC Canal Project demonstrates how Putzmeister solutions help customers deliver demanding infrastructure projects with efficiency, reliability and confidence.
