We are proud to share that on 7th May 2026, our report titled “Assessment of the Cooling and Electrical Demand in Commercial Buildings in Selected Cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad” was officially launched by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, at Hyatt Regency Delhi.

This report, prepared by the Celestial Earth team, presents an assessment of the current and future cooling and electricity demand across commercial buildings in four major Indian cities. The analysis was carried out using our in-house developed tool, the Spatially Integrated Building Energy Assessment Tool (SPIBEAT).

Covering different climatic zones of India, the study highlights the importance of sustainable cooling strategies, energy-efficient building design, passive cooling measures, and climate-resilient urban planning for India’s future.

We sincerely thank BEE, Ministry of Power, Government of India, for this opportunity and continued collaboration. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to GIZ India for their constant support and guidance in developing this report.

In today’s rapidly evolving travel landscape, sustainability is no longer optional—it is becoming central to how the tourism and hospitality sector grows and operates.

In a recent blog titled “Rethinking Travel: Embracing Sustainable Tourism for a Changing World,” Suvhanki Shome, Research Associate at The Celestial Earth, explores this transition. The article highlights how the hospitality sector is shifting from isolated sustainability initiatives to integrated ESG-driven strategies that prioritize long-term resilience and responsible growth.

From net-zero and regenerative hospitality models to circular economy systems, carbon-aware operations, and water-positive strategies, the blog examines how sustainability is reshaping operations, investments, and competitiveness across the industry.

While global leaders are embedding ESG principles into their core business models, India’s hospitality sector stands at a critical juncture, where scaling sustainable practices will require stronger collaboration between industry, finance, and policy ecosystems.

Sustainable tourism is no longer a niche idea—it is becoming the foundation for future-ready and climate-resilient hospitality systems.

🌍 Happy Earth Day from The Celestial Earth!

This year's theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," is a reminder that the future of our Earth lies in the hands of each one of us.

Our planet is not just our home—it is our responsibility. Every tree planted, every plastic bottle refused, and every conscious choice we make sends a ripple through generations to come. The Earth doesn't need us to save it; it needs us to stop harming it.

At The Celestial Earth, we believe that real change begins with awareness, grows through community, and thrives through action.

This Earth Day, let's commit to one small step, because millions of small steps create a movement. 🌱

🌿✨ Warm New Year Wishes from The Celestial Earth Team ✨🌿

Across India, this time of the year marks the celebration of several regional New Year festivals—Poila Boishakh, Vishu, Puthandu, Baisakhi, Bihu, Ugadi, and Maha Vishuba Sankranti. Though diverse in culture and tradition, these festivals share a common spirit: celebrating the harvest and seasonal renewal and expressing gratitude to nature. 🌾

These traditions remind us of our deep connection with the Earth and the importance of living in harmony with nature. As we welcome these new beginnings, let us renew our collective commitment to protecting our environment and building a more sustainable future. 🌍🌱

🌍 Global Recycling Day 2026

Recycling is often seen as just a way to manage waste, but it’s really about how we manage our resources better.

In a world facing growing pressure on natural resources, recycling plays a critical role in reducing environmental pollution, conserving energy and raw materials, strengthening circular economies, and supporting sustainable urban and industrial systems.

At The Celestial Earth, we believe recycling needs to go beyond awareness. It requires thoughtful policies, better planning, and the right use of data and science to make a real impact.

This Global Recycling Day, let’s start thinking of waste differently, not as something to throw away, but as something that still has value.
