We create and develop products which offer these solutions using sustainable energy sources, which have no negative impact on health while offering much better light than the existing sources. This company was founded by Atanu Mukerji and Soumita Datta. They moved out of their high profile jobs to contribute to the cause of social empowerment. Atanu holds a degree in engineering, followed by masters in business management from MDI, Gurgaon. He also studied international business from IIM, Calcutta. He has more than a decade of experience in the electronics industry in different organizations including a stint of entrepreneurship, followed by almost eleven years with Cadence Design Systems which is the market leader in EDA tools. In his last assignment he headed global support for PCB design tools of Cadence. At Atea he is responsible for creation of products which the market demands. Atanu handles the Engineering and Business Development for Atea Energy. Soumita holds a degree in engineering. She has a significant experience of handling operations on the shop floor of organizations of repute like Network Systems. She handles the Quality and Operational aspects of the business. She ensures that all products which go out of the door are examples of ultimate workmanship. Our USP

Our current focus area is solar LED lighting. Both are niche and upcoming technology. They will be key to our lives in near future. However the combination of solar power and LED lighting enables us to prolong the use of stored energy. Today technological development makes it easy for users to use solar powered products for lighting, heating and cooking. Conversion efficiency of solar to electrical energy is low, using commercially viable technology. Hence the initial cost of the product is high. However with the long lifetime of the solar conversion equipment and the even longer life of LEDs, it becomes viable to use these products. Use of solar powered products helps conserve scarce fossil fuels. Use of LED lights help prevent toxic chemicals like mercury during disposal of CFL and fluorescent lamps. How we reach out? We provide sustainable solutions for the rural populace. Our main challenge is to offer these products which are inherently costly at affordable costs. But that is not all. As consumers, the buyers in rural areas have the right to demand service, spares and even usage related assistance at their doorstep for all these products. However coupled with the challenge of higher input cost and low product pricing, it is a HUGE challenge to provide all the "normally" expected services. We currently provide sales and service through regular channels of distribution, but that restricts our reach from expanding as much as we would like to. Our MISSION 100K is a BHAG!
