Day 2 at IERCSC 2026: Advancing Skills Through Hands-on Robotic Cardiac Surgery Training

The second day of the Endoscopic & Robotic Cardiac Surgery Conference (IERCSC 2026) at Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), Muddenahalli, was dedicated to immersive, hands-on training and skill development in robotic cardiac surgery.

Led by Dr Nitin Kumar Rajput., participating cardiac surgeons underwent structured, batch-wise training on the SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System. Through interactive demonstrations, delegates gained practical experience in robotic system setup, console ergonomics, instrument handling, docking workflows, and operative strategies, while also learning valuable technical pearls, tips, and troubleshooting techniques essential for clinical practice.

A special highlight of the day was the gracious visit of Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai Ji to the SSI MantraM Telesurgery Mobile Unit. During his interaction with Dr. Nitin K. Rajput and Dr C. S Hiremath, Organising Secretary of IERCSC 2026, discussions centered on the transformative role of international scientific forums in fostering surgical innovation, advancing education, and accelerating the adoption of minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery for improved patient care.

Sudhir Srivastava, MD congratulated Sri Madhusudan Sai Ji, Dr. Hiremath and the entire organizing team and thanked them for giving the opportunity to be a part of this global event.

Over the course of two inspiring days, the conference served as a valuable platform for scientific collaboration, reinforcing a shared commitment to shaping the future of precision cardiac surgery through innovation, education, and global partnership.

Advancing the Frontiers of Robotic Cardiac Surgery Through Telesurgical Innovation

The International Endoscopic & Robotic Cardiac Surgery Conference (IERCSC 2026) commenced today at Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), Muddenahalli, Karnataka, organized in association with SS Innovations International, Inc.. The two-day scientific conference has brought together renowned international and national cardiac surgeons to advance the field of minimally invasive, endoscopic, and robotic cardiac surgery through live surgical demonstrations, expert scientific discussions, and hands-on training.

A defining highlight of the inaugural day was a live robotic cardiac telesurgery, during which Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, MD, remotely performed a Robotic Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Closure from the SSII Headquarters in Gurugram using the SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System. At the patient site in Muddenahalli, Dr. Lalit Malik and the team expertly managed the bedside components of the procedure, exemplifying seamless collaboration between the remote console surgeon and the operating room team.

The surgery was transmitted live to the conference auditorium, providing delegates with an opportunity to witness the precision, reliability, and clinical workflow of robotic telesurgery on Mantra in real time.

The conference scientific program also features live robotic and totally endoscopic cardiac procedures, international faculty lectures, interactive panel discussions, and dedicated wet-lab training, creating a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange and skill development in next-generation cardiac surgery.

Complementing the conference, the MantraM Telesurgery Mobile Unit was also showcased at the conference, where the SS Innovations team conducted hands-on demonstrations of the SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System. Delegates gained practical experience with the system’s features, workflow, and robotic capabilities, highlighting the role of simulation-based training in advancing robotic cardiac surgery.
