To tackle the inefficiencies in last-mile logistics, a growing number of logistics stakeholders are turning to drone technology as it can control operational costs, overcome traffic bottlenecks and reduce vehicular emissions while satisfying the customer appetite for on-demand and instant delivery.

According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), 85 million packages and documents are delivered around the world daily. Apart from fulfilling these staggering number of deliveries, studies suggest that last-mile delivery is typically the most time consuming and comprises an estimated 50 per cent of the total logistical costs.

Interaction and visit of Dr.Rajiv Bahl, Secretary to Government of India, Department of Health Research and Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in Hi Rapid lab today witnessing our Hepicopter- system for Medicine Delivery and Healthcare Logistics!

On September 17, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Drone technology will emerge as an important aspect of the transport and logistics sector, especially for remote areas, in India.”

Despite the logistical challenges in the country (difficult geographical terrains, higher population density, poor infrastructure) drones in India have already pe*****ted the healthcare, agriculture, eCommerce, medicine, and grocery delivery sectors and more.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday unveiled India's first prototype of drone transportation of human organs to facilitate quick organ transplantation in hospitals as the present mode of transporting them by road from the airport to the hospital is time-consuming.

For more information check

Dr. Prashanth Rajagopalan, director of MGM Healthcare, which has co-created the prototype drone technology said that drones can be used to move the box containing organs up to a distance of 20 km.

Use drones for primary health care in India. India has over 30,000 primary health centres (PHC) and over 250,000 sub-centres (SC) across the country that serve as the building blocks of government led primary health system. Each PHC serves 20-50,000 people with upstream linkages to district hospital and downstream linkages to about 5-10 SCs. Each of the 748 districts in India has around 20-100 PHCs depending on their population. Drones can be safely and reliably deliver multiple medical payloads simultaneously and improve access to vaccines, lab samples and possibly on demand medical products to primary health centres and sub-centre’s in rural, remote, and hard to reach areas. The drones will be flown from existing ware houses or from custom designed mobile launch pad, complete with fridges, freezers, continuous communication and a real time command centre.

Make every day Earth Day

There is no doubt that we all know the present state of our earth due to global warming. But its climatic crisis and other threats like greenhouse gases, drought and flood, famine and hunger, and devastating diseases are far more enhancing than we realize. Don’t let this Earth day go as just another day. Let’s hope and step up to conserve our home planet while we still can.

Hepicopter long-range successful launch 💪

Hepicopters’ successful long-range supply of vaccines and medicines using Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drones to Vikarabad district created a massive impact in the medical field to acknowledge its significant role as a medical carriage. 🚑

Hepicopters’ Medicine from the sky project covered a distance of 42 km in about 32 minutes with a payload of five kg. It would take nearly 1.30 hours to cover the same distance in the roadway.

How do you find this quick delivery? What brings you to see the necessity of such drones?

Hepicopter is designed to provide medicine, actually medicine from the sky. It is India’s first medical heavy payload drone delivery . To elaborate on the perks of Hepicopter its BVLOS operations are for long-range of approximately 45Km, the medical delivery can hold heavy payloads of approximately 16Kgs, it has multiple temperature-controlled boxes for safe reliable medical supplies.

It is a great technology platform to enable medical delivery drones and pe*****te them into remote inaccessible areas via mobile app. The medicines can be provided within time regardless of terrain, weather, and traffic congestions. It works as an environmentally clean electric engine.

We are very grateful to showcase our Hepicopter in the 29th Annual HYSEA Awards and Expo 2021 and are so happy to deserve this opportunity for recognition.

People are largely dependent on primary health centres and sub-centres in the rural, remote and hilly, forest or river areas. The road connections are cut off due to heavy rains, landslides and very inclement weather like fog and snow for several months in a year in many parts of the country. This makes medical delivery operationally challenging. Proper roads and other infrastructure in ideal conditions also fail towards medical help to reach on time at times.

The drones of impact our prevalent system of healthcare majorly without any leakage or spoilage of medicines.

Hepicopter 1.0 drones can hold four boxes, each carrying up to 10 units of blood or over 500 doses of vaccines on a single flight and cover a maximum flight range of 10 km with endurance over 20 minutes. To increase our impact, we are working on Hepicopter 2.0 to expand the maximum payload and range further to take 25kg payload for 50 km range to do our bit to contribute to our healthcare system.

Around 2.4 million Indians die of treatable conditions every year.

are an excellent way to modernize the last mile in medical deliveries and bridge gaps in access. Our Drones can provide just-in-time resupplies of key medical items, regardless of location. Few health systems can't afford to keep cold-chain products such as platelets or blood on-site, our drones can ensure these supplies are available on demand. We can also change the way how critical medical supplies are delivered during emergencies like snake bites, disasters etc. Our vision ensures a multi-utility payload that can handle different temperature needs required for transport of various health products such as vaccines, blood, diagnostic samples and longtail medicines all at the same time.

Unveiling of most awaited India's first of its kind BVLOS medical delivery solution can deliver through into remote areas.

It is no secret that over 60% of our population lives in rural and remote areas, which are situated amidst difficult terrains like forests, hills, and deserts. These areas, which are not touched by “development”, lack proper infrastructures like roads, street lights, or hospitals. So, if people need medicines other health services urgently, they need to devote a lot of time and effort to reach the nearest hospital as their local health centers often lack facilities. As there are no proper roads, people should use more “traditional” methods of transport like camelback rides, rope bridges, or even walk on foot. Not to mention the risk involved in traveling on such difficult terrain.

Hepicopter's Medical delivery drone works on a hub-and-spoke model. The team gets a message on the inventory needed. This is loaded at the central hub, and the drones take off, after the regular pre-flight tests and checks of wind conditions, audio pilot systems, and GPS tracker. The coordinates are fed into the systems and the health examiner picks up the vials at the drop-off point.

The Hepicopter, autonomous drones can be dispatched remotely On-Demand or at Scheduled intervals from a Command & Control Center by operators, to the Medical Warehouse, Public Health Centers’, or a location of an incident to collect or provide the medical samples/vaccinations.

Hepicopter Drone (with 30kgs) Heavy Payload(carries 16Kgs) Medical Delivery with multiple temperature control boxes in High Altitude Operations and Long Range (40Kms) in BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations.

Stay tuned for more update!!
