Lupin Subsidiary Acquires Two Brands from Sanofi

This acquisition aligns with the company's strategy to expand its global presence in speciality areas.
Pharmaceutical major Lupin announced on Wednesday, June 5, that its European subsidiary has completed the acquisition of two brands from Sanofi.

In its regulatory filing, the company said that its subsidiary, Lupin Atlantis Holdings SA, has completed the acquisition of Aarane in Germany, Nalcrom in Canada and the Netherlands, and its associated trademark rights from Sanofi.

This acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its global presence in speciality areas, and will enhance the company’s respiratory business in Germany by aiding in the expansion of the newly established franchise with the introduction of Lufrobec.

Today marks death anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. Born on March 3, 1839, in Navsari, Gujarat, India, he was a pioneering Indian industrialist and founder of the Tata Group. Established in 1868, the Tata Group became India's largest conglomerate, encompassing steel, power, hospitality, and chemicals. Tata conceptualized India's first steel plant, Tata Steel, and initiated the country's first hydroelectric power plants. He also played a key role in founding the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. Known as the "Father of Indian Industry," Jamsetji Tata’s legacy endures through the Tata Group’s contributions to industry and education. He passed away on May 19, 1904.
