Making Energy Storage More Reliable & Affordable for India ๐Ÿ”‹๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

At ET EnergyWorld 2026, Trex Energy Director Bharat S. Chhittarka shared his perspective on what it will take to accelerate Indiaโ€™s energy-storage ecosystem.

In this on-ground , Bharat S Chhittarka discusses how advanced technology, stronger and more resilient supply chains, and lower financing costs can help make energy storage more reliable, scalable and affordable.

As India continues to integrate more renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will play an increasingly important role in improving grid flexibility, energy security and the effective utilisation of renewable power.

Watch the conversation to hear Bharatโ€™s perspective on building a more resilient and accessible energy-storage future for India.

Powering the Conversation on C&I Energy Storage

Yesterday in Mumbai, Trex Energy was proud to be an Associate Partner at India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA)โ€™s BESS for C&I initiative โ€” bringing together 120+ stakeholders from across the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) ecosystem, including developers, manufacturers, technology providers, and industry leaders.

The discussions focused on a critical question for the sector:
โ€œ๐€๐ซ๐ž ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐š๐ฏ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐‚&๐ˆ ๐๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐?โ€

Representing Trex Energy, Mr. Bharat S Chhittarka, Director โ€“ Trex Energy, participated in the Developers Roundtable, contributing perspectives on the evolving requirements, opportunities, and challenges surrounding BESS adoption across C&I applications.

The strength of this initiative lies in bringing the entire ecosystem into one room โ€” creating meaningful conversations between those developing solutions and those deploying them.

A sincere thank you to all the Santosh Kamath, Inder Bhambra, Ayush Misra, Subrahmanyam K V, Vatsal Kundalia, Debmalya Sen and participants who contributed their insights, questions, and perspectives to the discussion.

Together, we continue to move the conversation around BESS for C&I from opportunity to implementation.

As the energy landscape shifts toward renewables, ensuring reliable, 24/7 power delivery is one of the biggest challenges โ€” and opportunities โ€” of our time. It was a great platform to exchange perspectives on:

๐Ÿ”น Strengthening transmission infrastructure to handle variable renewable generation
๐Ÿ”น The growing role of energy storage in balancing supply and demand
๐Ÿ”น Building flexibility into the grid to enable true round-the-clock clean power

Thanks to the team for curating such a thoughtful conversation, and moderator Mittravinda Ranjan and panelists Navonil Roy, Pandya Piyush, ๐’๐ก๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ข ๐๐ซ๐š๐›๐ก๐š for sharing their insights and experience. Conversations like these reminds how much progress happens when diverse voices โ€” from policy, technology, and industry โ€” come together to solve current challenges.
