Selective Appreciation: A Question of Fairness in Season 4, Episode 4
Television shows thrive on talent, equality, and the spirit of fair recognition. However, Season 4, Episode 4 raised serious questions about these values when Sunil’s act was noticeably not appraised, while Krishna and Kiku received standing ovations and praise for their performances.
Sunil has consistently delivered impactful performances over the seasons. His timing, expressions, and ability to connect with the audience are undeniable. Ignoring such contribution, especially in an episode where appreciation was freely given to others, reflects selective acknowledgment that viewers cannot overlook.
This kind of behavior creates an uncomfortable perception of hypocrisy—where appreciation seems dependent not on performance, but on favoritism. When talent is evaluated inconsistently, it damages the credibility of the platform and disrespects both the artist and the audience.
Moreover, repeated patterns of exclusion raise deeper concerns. Whether intentional or not, such actions can feel like bias or discrimination, which has no place in creative spaces meant to celebrate diversity and merit. Audiences today are perceptive and vocal; they recognize when appreciation is uneven and when respect is selectively applied.
Art flourishes only where fairness exists. Every performer deserves equal acknowledgment based on effort and impact—not selective applause. Ignoring one artist while celebrating others on the same stage sends the wrong message and weakens the integrity of the show.
Recognition should never be a privilege—it should be a responsibility, exercised honestly and equally.
