Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) students of Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar innovate a Project “Smart Bike Vehicle with Petrol Measurement and Accidental Protection”

With the able guidance and motivation of Dr. Jagroop Singh, Principal and Sh. Prince Madaan, HOD, the students from the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department at Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar, have developed a smart bike vehicle equipped with petrol measurement and accidental protection systems to stop the petrol pump scams. This innovative project is developed by the final year students Prince Bhagat, Madhav Sharma, Shivam and Ishant which showcases their practical application of engineering principles to enhance vehicle safety and efficiency.
The smart bike is designed to provide accurate and real-time petrol level monitoring, which helps riders avoid unexpected fuel shortages and prevent scams by petrol pump owners. This system aims to enhance the rider's experience by ensuring that the bike can be managed efficiently. The processed information is displayed to the rider through a digital interface on the bike’s dashboard. This interface can show the exact fuel level in liters or as a percentage of the total tank capacity.
Additionally, the accidental protection feature is intended to reduce the risk of injuries during accidents by incorporating advanced sensors and alert mechanisms that can detect potential collisions and respond accordingly.

“A Workshop organized by department of ECE on the topic of “ECM and ECU Repairing” at Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar”

Under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. Jagroop Singh and aegis & able guidance of Er. Prince Madaan, Head, Department of Electronics & Communication Engg. of Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar have organized a workshop on the topic of ECM (Engine Control Module) and ECU (Engine Control Unit) Repairing. Er. Jagjeet Singh (Managing Director), Er. Partap Singh (Director), Er. Gurdarshan Singh (Head, Mechanical Department) and Er. Ramandeep Singh (Operational Manager) from Hi-Tech Automotive Skills Development Academy, Khanna shared their experience in the aforesaid topics with the students of ECE Deptt. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Preet Kanwal, Lecturer in the ECE department. Er. Jagjeet Singh shared his extensive knowledge on car sensors, car sensor scanners, component testing, fault codes in ECM, ECM programming, and fuel injection coding. He emphasized the critical role of ECM and ECU as the brain of modern vehicle engine management systems, controlling various engine functions to ensure optimal performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions control. Students participated in hands-on workshops where they practiced diagnosing and repairing ECM/ECU units using the latest tools and technologies. The seminar showcased the latest advancements in ECM/ECU technology, including state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and software. Participants were introduced to cutting-edge tools that are shaping the future of automotive repair, providing them with insights into industry trends and innovations. The lectures delivered by the professionals from Hi-Tech Automotive Skills Development Academy were both convincing and highly motivating, leaving a lasting impression on the staff and students of the ECE department. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks extended to the delegates for sharing their valuable insights. During the Seminar, Sh. Manish Sachdeva, Lect. ECE, Ms. Maninder Kaur, Lect.
