On 23rd March 2026, a total of 65 students along with 4 faculty members from Dhemaji College visited CSIR–NEIST, Jorhat under the Jigyasa Programme for a Student–Scientist Connect Programme and laboratory visit.

During the visit, Dr. Dipankar Neog, Senior Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer of the Jigyasa Programme, interacted with the students. He motivated them to pursue science and provided valuable guidance on career opportunities in scientific research and related fields.

The students also visited various laboratoies, where they actively interacted with scientists and research scholars, gaining firsthand exposure to ongoing research activities and advanced scientific instruments.

On 19th February 2026, the students of Classes VII and VIII from Kendriya Vidyalaya RRL Jorhat visited CSIR-NEIST for a laboratory exposure program. A total of around 85 students, accompanied by 4 faculty members, took part in the visit.

During the program, the students were introduced to various laboratories and ongoing scientific projects. Scientists and research scholars interacted with the students, explaining the functioning of advanced laboratory instruments and demonstrating basic scientific principles. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure beyond classroom learning and to nurture curiosity, innovation, and scientific temper among young learners.

The interactive sessions allowed students to ask questions and understand how research contributes to technological development and societal advancement. Overall, the visit served as an inspiring experience, motivating students to explore future career opportunities in science and research.

On 22nd January, 70 students from Bokahat Higher Secondary School took part in an Outreach Program under the Jigyasa initiative. The outreach team visited the school campus.

The students were familiarized with emerging technological domains including Robotics and Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Animation, and Web Development. The program aimed to promote scientific temper, stimulate curiosity, and provide preliminary exposure to contemporary technologies.

On 22nd January, 100 students from Bokahat Girls’ High School participated in an Outreach Program under the Jigyasa initiative and there were 5 Faculty members present at the program. The program was conducted at the school premises.

During the session, the students were introduced to emerging and interdisciplinary technologies such as Robotics and Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Animation, and Web Development. The objective of the program was to foster scientific temper, encourage curiosity, and provide early exposure to modern technological domains.

A total of 216 students from Carmel School, Jorhat, accompanied by 6 teachers, visited CSIR–North East Institute of Science and Technology on 21st January 2026 as part of Laboratory Visit under Jigyasa Program.

The event commenced with a popular lecture by Dr. Dipankar Neog, Senior Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer, Jigyasa Program, CSIR-NEIST. During his interaction, he highlighted the institute’s research activities and innovations, while also making a sincere effort to inculcate scientific temper, curiosity, and rational thinking among the students.

Following the lecture, the students took part in guided laboratory visits, where they interacted with scientists and gained first-hand exposure to ongoing research, advanced instruments, and their practical applications. The visit was an engaging and inspiring learning experience for both students and teachers.
