Dr. Naresh Pal Gangwar, IAS, Secretary to Government of India, Department of Animal Husbandry Dairying and Fisheries visited Indian Immunologicals Limited in Gachibowli Hyderabad. Dr K Anand Kumar, Managing Director IIL took him on a tour of IIL’s world class vaccine facility and briefed about the work that IIL does and it’s achievement of being the single largest contributor to vaccine security of the nation and also offering affordable vaccines to more than 60 countries. Hon’ble Secretary Shri Gangwar was appreciative of the facility and it’s up keep.

Dr. Santhosh Ghadage, DMD and many senior officials were present on the occasion.

Today was a momentous occasion as our company celebrated its highest turnover of Rs.1586 Cr for the year 2025-26. To grace the occasion we had with us a well respected Industry leader Shri G.V.Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. In the past decade IIL contributing significantly to One Health has achieved a CAGR of 16%.

Speaking on the occasion and addressing our senior employees our MD, Dr.K.Anand Kumar said “Today I stand before you with immense pride and gratitude. Achievement of the company’s highest turnover in history is not just a milestone but a testament to your dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to our mission. We are not just a business, our ability to balance profits with social good has earned us achieve cult status. Governments, healthcare practitioners, patients, farmers are placing more trust on us and we need to rise to the occasion through integrity, innovation and excellence. The success is a result of the long hours in the R&D lab, precision in the production floors, tireless efforts by our sales team and the seamless coordination between all functions. Let us also on this occasion renew our committnent to push the boundaries of science, offer availability and affordability, maintain the high standards of quality and indulge in responsible manufacturing."

Speaking on the occasion G.V.Prasad said “ IIL and DRL share many parallels and are driven by common purpose to significantly improve health. I compliment IIL for contributing in the area of One Health. The efficiency with which IIL operates and the frugal innovation adopted has significantly contributed to its bottom line. It is amazing that the company is able to provide life saving vaccines at very affordable prices. I congratulate the entire team at IIL for serving the nation and wish it continued success”.

Later both the leaders along with Dr. Santhosh Ghadage Deputy Managing Director cut a cake in the midst of thunderous claps by our employees. Subsequently the leaders participated in a Q&A session answering to intelligent questions posed by our staff.

Our company was represented at the World Vaccine Congress in Washington, USA by Dr.K.Anand Kumar, MD, IIL and Sarthak Vasudeva, Sr.Vice President, International business. The event provided an opportunity to interact with many across the globe from Academia, Industry, Finance and Regulatory. IIL has collaboration with the leading academic institutions across the globe and also exports its products to over 60 countries earning valuable foreign exchange for our country.

Dr.K.Anand Kumar also participated in a panel “Translating Public R&D into Animal Health Innovation” moderated by Dr.Karyn Havas, National Program Leader for Animal Health at USDA. Other members of the panel were Dr.Alan Young, CTO Medgene, Dr.Paul Lawrence, Director, R&D at Bimeda, Dr.Perot, computational biologist at USDA and Dr.Elizabeth Rieder, Senior Research Scientist at USDA.

On the sidelines, Dr.Kumar also met Dr.Mahesh Kumar, Sr.Vice President, Zoetis, and presented a signed copy of his recently launched book “Road to Anand”.

No longer are companies respected solely on the top line revenues or bottom line profits. Investors, regulators, customers, employees, prospective employees and the common public hold in high esteem a company for its responsible approach towards the environment, social and governance (ESG).

Just because we make life saving vaccines is no excuse to deplete our natural valuable resources in the name of manufacturing.

It is a remarkable day at IIL today, as we have adopted greener and more sustainable solutions, in the presence of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗞 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗜𝗜𝗟.

𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗶:

The introduction of PNG as an alternative fuel to High Speed Diesel (HSD) marks a significant step toward our organization’s sustainability goals and alignment with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By transitioning from fossil fuels HSD to PNG, we aim to enhance fuel efficiency, reduce environmental impact and promote clean energy usage across our operations.

The adoption of PNG as boiler fuel is expected to reduce our carbon emissions by 2200 tCO2e/annum and annual cost savings of approximately 20–25% through cleaner combustion and lower emissions from Boiler.

Additionally, PNG eliminates the need for fuel storage and handling logistics, improving safety and operational efficiency.

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗶:

We have installed a ground-mounted captive solar power plant at Gachibowli site marking a major step towards renewable energy adoption and sustainable practices.

The 999.6 kW solar PV system, built with 1680 bifacial modules (595 Wp) and integrated with Rapid Shutdown Protection System (RPS), enhances energy efficiency and ensures high safety standards.

This initiative generates approximately 1.4 million units annually, reduces grid dependency, and contributes to an estimated reduction in carbon emissions by ~1,000 tCO2e/annum.

Kudos to IIL’s ever strong Engineering team ably led by Magesh Kumar for the above initiatives.

ASPIRE-BioNEST Signs Strategic MoU with Indian Immunologicals Ltd. to Advance One Health Innovation.

ASPIRE-BioNEST, a premier life sciences incubation center at the University of Hyderabad, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Immunologicals Ltd. (IIL), a leading vaccine-focused biotechnology company, to advance innovation under the One Health framework.

As part of this engagement, Dr.K.Anand Kumar visited ASPIRE-BioNEST and interacted with incubated startups, sharing insights on product development, regulatory pathways, and scale-up strategies, thereby providing startups with valuable industry perspective.

The MoU was signed and exchanged between Dr.K.Anand Kumar, Managing Director, Indian Immunologicals Ltd., and Prof. S. Rajagopal, Director, ASPIRE-BioNEST, in the presence of Dr. D. Yogeswara Rao, Director, ASPIRE; Prof. P. Reddanna, Former Director, ASPIRE; Dr. Anil Kondreddy, CEO, ASPIRE-BioNEST; Dr. Ramakrishna, CEO, ASPIRE-TBI; Mr. Prasad Sreeramakavacham, Vice President – Finance, Indian Immunologicals Ltd.; Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Head – R&D, Indian Immunologicals Ltd along with other officials from both organizations.

This partnership represents an important step towards strengthening India’s biotechnology innovation ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on integrated human, animal, and environmental health under the One Health framework.

Under the MoU, startups will benefit from IIL’s technical mentorship and domain expertise, along with access—on a mutually agreed basis—to advanced process development and analytical facilities, including capabilities relevant to viral and bacterial vaccine development. Opportunities to leverage IIL’s CDMO capabilities for scale-up and manufacturing readiness will also be explored.

Dr.K.Anand Kumar stated that Indian Immunologicals Ltd. will actively support startups at ASPIRE-BioNEST by extending its full spectrum of expertise across the product development lifecycle—from early-stage research and validation to scale-up, regulatory pathways, and commercialization.

Our MD, Dr.Anand Kumar hosted Shri. Vijay Nehra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and Chairman, HLL Biotech Ltd at our Gachibowli manufacturing facility. Senior officials from both sides discussed about possible collaborative opportunities in the field of vaccine.

It is pertinent to note that IIL has been a trusted and one of the largest supplier of human vaccines to the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) run by Government of India for many years. Pentavalent vaccine, Measles-Rubella vaccine, DTP vaccine, Recombinant Hepatitis B vaccine are some of the major vaccines supplied. We are fortunate to live in a country wherein our Government procures life saving vaccines and provides it to all citizens free of cost.

It is with pride to let know that our Managing Director, Dr.K.Anand Kumar has been conferred with the Dr.Verghese Kurien Memorial Award and Citation by Pt.Deen Dayal Upadhayaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura. The award was presented by Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Vice Chancellor of esteemed University in the presence of Deans of various institutions, staff and several hundred students from the disciplines of veterinary sciences, fishery sciences, biotechnology etc.

Dr. Kumar spoke about the Visionary leader Dr.Kurien who decades ago addressed the top three goals of the modern SDGs, No poverty, Zero hunger, Good health and Well being. All this through creation of many institutions of importance including the creation of IIL in 1982.
