The Hetawane water supply scheme is a project to meet the growing water needs of Navi Mumbai by constructing a 13.25 km underground tunnel from Hetawane Dam to the Jite Water Treatment Plant.
The project, undertaken by CIDCO and involving companies like MEIL and Afcons, will deliver 270 MLD of raw water and uses advanced tunneling technology like Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).
