In the awesome life span of memorable years of late Shri Karunakaran Maistry started his career as an ordinary mason. His mastery and depth of knowledge in the field of construction took him to great heights. His undertaking ranged form educational institutions, official buildings, hotels, commercial complexes and residences. All in all in his profound lifespan of 70 years he proved his mastery of
profession through out. Dedication was the soul resounding criteria in each of his work. Hence this being the foundation every task became easy for this great architect. His work extended wide and range to even outside Kerala. The traditional profession was handed to him from his father late Shri Damodharan maistry under whose guidance constructed the Kannur Collectorate one of the main landmark of Kannur in 1930. This surely empowered him to undertake the best of creations in the field of building construction. The landmark achievements to begin with are the PLAZA TOURIST HOME, the first multi-storied structure at Kannur, designed by one of the leading architect Mr. EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS:
