On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2026, the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) Kokrajhar, with the support of NSS CITK, successfully organized a plantation drive along the road outside the institute boundary (Tiniali Road).

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from scholars, students, faculty members and staff came together with a shared commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar (CITK) organized a One-Day Workshop on Universal Human Values and Students’ Multimedia Exhibition on 2nd April 2026 in the institute premise. The programme was conducted as an extended component of the Universal Human Values credit course for second semester students, a mandatory course prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education under the National Education Policy 2020.
The workshop aimed to foster awareness and practice of human values in daily life. It featured sessions by Smt. Bhaotina Mushahary, Co-founder and Managing Trustee of Action for Inclusion & Empowerment Trust, who delivered a talk on “Universal Human Values in Daily Life: From Thought to Behaviour,” and Sri Mahananda Brahma, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, CIT Kokrajhar, who spoke on “Quantum Principles and Universal Human Values: A Comparative Enquiry.” He also conducted a self-awareness activity focusing on the interrelation of mind, body, and self.
Students actively participated in interactive sessions and a multimedia exhibition showcasing creative expressions on human values. The event concluded with a cultural programme featuring performances by students and faculty members, reflecting the spirit of harmony, creativity, and shared human values.
The programme was attended by Deans, Heads of Departments, Registrar, faculty members, staff, and students, and successfully reinforced the importance of value-based living in academic and social life.

The Department of Chemistry, Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar successfully organized a two-day National Conference on Sustainable Chemistry for a Greener Future (SCGF 2026) on 19th and 20th March, 2026.

The conference brought together academicians, researchers, industry experts, policymakers, and students from across the country to discuss recent advancements, challenges, and future directions in sustainable chemistry. Key discussions focused on green synthesis, renewable resources, waste management, environmental remediation, sustainable materials, circular economy, and innovations aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event served as a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, interdisciplinary collaboration, and showcasing innovative research aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and responsible technological development.

Dr. Pilik Basumatary (B.Tech, Instrumentation Engineering, 2013 Batch, CIT Kokrajhar) is an inspiring example of dedication and academic excellence. From Madatipar, Gossaigaon (Kokrajhar, BTR), he pursued his M.Tech from Pondicherry University with Distinction and also received Fellowship from Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, India and earned his Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati, followed by Postdoctoral Research at IIT Dharwad.

He has recently joined Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj, as an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering, focusing on Renewable Energy and Emerging Technologies.

His journey is a true inspiration for young minds to dream big and achieve greater heights.

Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar observed International Mother Language Day on 21st February, 2026 at the Language Lab from 10:30 AM onwards.

The programme featured insightful speeches by Dr. Apurbalal Senapati and Dr. Sanjib Narzary, along with students and other faculty members address highlighting the importance of preserving our mother tongues. The event also included beautiful poem recitations in Bodo, Bengali, Koch, and Hindi, celebrating India’s rich linguistic diversity.

The celebration reaffirmed our commitment to promoting and preserving linguistic heritage.
