It was a moment of immense pride for Aerorotors to felicitate Dr. Sarita Boodhoo, a distinguished cultural scholar, social activist, and thought leader from Mauritius, during the programme “Geet Gawai – The Chord and Spirit of the Girmitiyas of Mauritius.”
Her pioneering work has played a vital role in strengthening cultural ties between India and Mauritius, while preserving the shared heritage of the Girmitiya community across generations. We were also honoured to officially launch her book “Geet Gawai” during the ceremony. Notably, she has recently been recognized by Government of India and awarded by the Hon’ble President of India for her outstanding contributions. She is also the spouse of former Prime Minister of Mauritius, Haresh Boodhoo.
We were privileged to have Mr.Kapil Kaul representing the Honorary Consulate of Mauritius in Kolkata.
The event was graced by several eminent personalities, including:
• Shri Sobhadyuti Dutta, Vice President, Press Club Kolkata
• Shyamalendu Mitra, President, Independent Journalists Association & Former Special Correspondent, Anandabazar Patrika

• Brij G Roy, B.G. Roy & Co.

We look forward to fostering more such meaningful exchanges that celebrate heritage, identity, and the shared spirit binding our two nations.
