Sisir Radar brings out a pair of very high resolution images, captured in L and P bands simultaneously, in full polarimetry mode. The scene is unique: in one frame it provides diverse features like urban sprawl, forest, crop-land, water bodies etc. Studying the responses of these features in L and P bands is a learning experience.

Made in India, Made for India

Sisir Radar presents their latest Ultra-High resolution L-band SAR image in full polarimetry, captured by Sisir Radar’s indigenous Drone-SAR. We present a comparison of single polarisation SAR image vis-a-vis Full Polarimetric SAR image. The difference is beyond comparison.

Sisir Radar has imaged more than 7000 sq km across India simultaneously in L and P bands, with full and hybrid polarimetry, using drone based SAR. We have carried out more than 400 imaging sorties. For Indian subcontinent with verdant land cover, L and P bands are much better suited due to their foliage pe*******on capability. In contrast, X band only provides superficial information at top canopy level. No wonder, L and P band SAR system from Sisir Radar is truly Made for India.

Sisir Radar is vertically integrated with circuit design, PCB etching, mechanical CNC machining, 3D printing facility, complete array of RF measurement instrumentation, including NF antenna measurement chamber - all under single roof. From system design, antenna systems, rf subsystems, digital subsystems and proprietary signal processing algorithms to even our own heavy lift drones and GIS software - we build everything in house. Complete vertical integration gives us full control on rapid innovation and avant garde design and development.

To conclude, Sisir Radar is the only truly Made in India full stack SAR company in India.

In life, the first baby steps are the most important and eagerly awaited. Similarly, in technology innovation, the initial steps give confidence to achieve product maturity sooner rather than later. In Sisir Radar, we are building a Design Verification Model of a very miniaturised spaceborne SAR system in X band with an unfurlable antenna. Our team finally cracked the complex design and manufacture of links for an unfurlable antenna. Our engineers demonstrated the first version of the 2 m dia. unfurlable antenna structure, in stowed and deployed configuration. The structural members are realised with CFRP. The links are realised with 3D printed parts and machined elements. The best part is that all the links and edge elements were manufactured completely in-house. We have immense pride in mentioning that we are the third group in the country, after ISRO and DRDO, to build this complex unfurlable antenna reflector structure completely from scratch.
