Under the dynamic leadership and vision of the Founder CMD Late Ramawatar Gutgutia, the first Cement Plant with an initial modest capacity of 30 TPD was set up in Asansol to produce Portland Slag Cement conforming to IS:455. The production phase was ushered in with the commissioning of this Plant in October, 1991. A slow and steady commissioning of other units led to a gradual stepping up of produ
ction over the years. Today the Company is having a production capacity of 1000 TPD at Asansol, and 800 TPD at Patratu, and as a major producer in the eastern region caters to the needs of a large group of customers; from a common man to large industries. Burnpur Cement not only extends assurance of a strong residential constructions and big commercial complexes, it also ensures guarantee in construction of flyovers, bridges, dams, culverts, concrete roads and various other sophisticated mass concrete jobs. BCL has made consistent and continuous endeavours to improve the quality of products and services. The company has received ISO - 9002 in 2000 and ISO - 9001 in 2003. The company's marketing network in the whole Eastern and North-Eastern region gives it a distinct competitive advantage. Due to efficient operations and marketing initiatives, BCL has emerged amongst the best and lowest cost cement producers in the country. The company has also exported its products to Bangladesh in the past.
