Solar energy is a renewable, clean energy that has been around for thousands of years in one form or another.Solar energy is all about harnessing the power of the sun to produce energy. The problem is fossil fuels are non-renewable. They are limited in supply and will one day be depleted. There is no escaping this conclusion. Fossil fuels formed from plants and animals that lived hundreds of millions of years ago and became buried way underneath the Earth’s surface where their remains collectively transformed into the combustible materials we use for fuel. On the other hand, energy can be utilized from sun because sun. Solar energy can be used and it won't get depleted.

In a bid to exceed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s climate pledges, India also recently announced that it will tender enough renewable energy projects over the next three years to surpass 200 gigawatts of green capacity build by 2022.

US applauded India for its efforts in initiating and inaugurating the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The ISA is a treaty based inter-governmental alliance of 121 sunshine-rich countries that lie fully or partially between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.

Their adoption of solar energy is expected to help reduce the use of fossil fuels and combat climate change. Sixty countries have signed the agreement to join the alliance which was formally launched jointly by India and France last Sunday in New Delhi. The heads of state from 23 nations took part in the first ISA Summit.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron co-hosted the first edition of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Summit at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, the spotlight was on India which is being viewed as a key player in tapping solar energy. PM Modi has presented a 10-point action plan to make affordable solar technology available to all nations, which included raising the share of electricity generated from photovoltaic cells in the energy mix, framing of regulations and standards and consultancy support for bankable solar projects.
