VDMA India The office in India of German Engineering Federation (VDMA) serves the Indo-German economic relations in the different engineering sectors.

India and Germany have been enjoying successful co-operation in many different sectors for a very long time, but never before have the relations been so close. Apart from the growing economic exchange, the political, scientific and cultural ties could hardly be better between the two countries. Germany is by far India's most important business partner in the EU. The VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau – German Engineering Federation) is a network of around 3,100 engineering industry companies in Germany making it one of the largest and most important industrial associations in Europe with over 450 industry experts. VDMA was founded in 1892 and since then the engineering companies have been successfully working with us to create a powerful force to present their interests both at national and international level. VDMA India office, acts as a "bridge-head" between German and Indian Industry. Besides it serves the Indo-German economic relations in the different engineering sectors and promotes the activities of VDMA member companies in India. With almost 20 years of experience and a team of committed and qualified experts, VDMA India maintains close relations with the Indian Industry, Indo-German companies, Embassy and Consulates as well as various Indian Industry Associations. VDMA India is the only association of its kind focussing on Mechanical Engineering Industry and is active in various specialised sectors. Over the years, VDMA India has compiled a database of around 42,000 vital contacts across 45 industrial sectors in India. Intensive and varied activities of VDMA India since many years, has led to closer co-operation between the members of the specialised associations within VDMA and their Indian customers. We are close to our around 530 members in India and provide them necessary information and support.

🇮🇳🇩🇪 India’s manufacturing moment at AMB 2026 in Stuttgart!

VDMA India and Messe Stuttgart brought together industry leaders from India and Europe for the India Opportunities Conference, exploring the EU-India FTA, regional growth, skills development and industrial infrastructure.

The session also featured the panel “India’s Manufacturing Moment: From Growth to Global Competitiveness”, followed by Q&A and the India Happy Hour.

The 30th India Management Meeting – Construction Equipment & Building Material Machinery, held in Greater Noida during Bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, brought together VDMA members for an engaging exchange on market developments, economic trends and the road ahead.

With insights from Rijoy Sengupta, VDMA India, and Sebastian Popp, VDMA Frankfurt, the session explored global developments, regional trends and the evolving opportunities across key markets, including India.

The meeting concluded with an open roundtable discussion, bringing together valuable perspectives from across the sector.

🔧 Precision in Practice. Performance in Focus. | Technology Meet 2026

Technology Meet 2026 – Precision Simplified brought together manufacturing leaders, production heads, plant managers and technical specialists across Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Gurugram for focused discussions on precision, productivity and machining performance.

Organised by VDMA India in association with EMUGE-FRANKEN India, Oerlikon and REGO-FIX Group, the three-city programme featured expert-led sessions on cutting tools, surface technologies, tool holding systems and real-world machining applications, along with engaging Q&A and technical discussions.
