Autonomous Surface Craft: Hardware
-Custom built balsa/plywood with glass & carbon fibre reinforced (possibly trimaran style) hull. With 2 x water screws powered by 2 x 12v 300rpm metal geared DC motors, tandem rudders, controlled by a MG995 digital metal geared servo. Additional 2 x 1000kv 4s bldc motor powered air screws for backup propulsion.
-The boat & ground station's brains are a pair of ESP32 dev kit1 boards.
-Water screw motors to be driven by a dual H bridge 43A bts7960 DC motor driver.
-GPS to be handled by a NEO-6M module attached to an external gps active antenna.
-All telemetry between boat & ground station, over a pair of LoRaSX1278 433mhz modules.
-Navigation on the boat to be monitored by a 9 axis MPU9250 gyro/accelerometer/magnetometer
-For failsafe controls a 2.4ghz flysky 6 channel RC system to be used.
-Boat side ESP32 and electronics powered through a 3A DC to DC buck converter. Power for the boat from an onboard 3s lipo 5000mah battery pack.
-Ground Station connected to a laptop over MAVLink, running Mission Planner through usb.
