🌐 Workshop on “Introduction to ROS2 and Robotic Simulation” | January 9–10, 2026

HuT Labs successfully conducted a two-day hands-on workshop on the Robot Operating System 2 (ROS2), empowering students to explore robotics software development, simulation, and visualization.

Under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam (Director, HuT Labs) and Dr. S. Bhagavathi Perumal (Principal, Nagercoil Campus), the workshop offered participants a strong foundation in robotics frameworks and practical exposure to simulation environments such as Gazebo and Rviz2.

The workshop was technically supported by:
👨‍💻 Mr. Pranav B, Mr. Lakshmikanth Reddy Guddila, and Mr. Shehsaath S, who provided on-site guidance, ensuring every student could implement the concepts hands-on. Their active presence enabled real-time troubleshooting, coding support, and deeper conceptual understanding.

We’re proud to share that two teams from HuT Labs — ANAVAD and PRASI — representing the ECE Department, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, India, have qualified to participate in the prestigious World Robot Summit (WRS 2025) under the Plant Disaster Challenge, to be held from October 10–13, 2025, at the Fukushima Test Field, Japan. 🇮🇳🇯🇵

The IEEE Student Robotic Competition at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri brought together 10 teams and 32 brilliant student innovators from multiple campuses and institutions.
From autonomous hexapods to intelligent control systems — the robots showcased were packed with creativity, engineering skill, and real-world problem-solving spirit 🤖💡

We were delighted to showcase our latest robotics and assistive technology innovations at the Exhibition conducted by Amrita Vidyalayam, Pandalam on 28–29 November 2025.

Our team demonstrated:
🔹 SAR (Search and Rescue) Robot – designed for industrial fire and disaster rescue operations.
🔹 Robotic Arm Wheelchair – enabling hands-free object handling and enhanced accessibility.
🔹 Steering Wheelchair – offering smooth and intuitive navigation for users.
🔹 Chelonia Robot – our bio-inspired educational robot platform.
