Star Light! Star Bright! Wish I may, wish I might...who's the star I saw last night?

Every time I am up in Jaipur, I try to wrap up my trip with a culinary mini splurge. The TAJ Rambagh Palace is a phenomenal, legendary, sprawling hotel to dignitaries & peacocks alike. So last night , upon finishing all my work, I went to the Polo Lounge, which is a classy bar with a vaulted & canopied ceiling, and more atmosphere than the best slick Conde Nast magazine could sell you. I am predictable in my choice of home made ginger beer with a hefty pour of dark rum. YUM. That and one appetizer keeps it affordable, and keeps this madam feeling like a real maharani!

As I sat down in the corner, I noticed a familiar group of folk come trickling in. Sure enough, it was the entire cast from "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"! Judy Dench et al, whose names I've now promised myself I"ll learn. I spoke to whom I believe is Judy Dench's sister, & she confirmed that a sequel is surely being made. Upon leaving, I passed & paused at their table, and 2 of the actors joked with me, as much as you can by barging in on star elite's social gatherings.

Here's the irony:

Judy Dench plays a woman who stays at a modest guest house, but in reality she stays at one of the worlds' best abodes.
Andrea stays at a modest guest house, but in reality plays & pretends to stay at this grand palace hotel.

I guess we are all just playing around!

LAHORE: Eighteen members of a
Hindu family in Khanpur area of
Pakistan's central Punjab province
have converted to Islam, local
residents said on Wednesday.
Seven men and 11 women of the
family adopted Islam during a
ceremony conducted on Tuesday
evening by Mian Ghaus
Mohammad, custodian of the
Khwaja Ghulam Fareed shrine at
Jhok Farid.
They recited the Kalima Tayabba,
the Islamic confession of faith,
and converted to Islam, local
residents were quoted as saying
by state-run APP news agency.
Samaram, the head of the family,
chose Mohammad Sharif as his
new name. Prominent people of
the area were present on the
occasion.
There have been several reports
of forcible conversion of members
of the minority Hindu community
in the southern Sindh province.
Community leaders have also
alleged that several women were
abducted and forced into marriage
with Muslim youths.
Members of the Hindu
community, especially traders and
professionals like doctors, have
been the target of kidnapping for
ransom and extortion demands in
the restive southwestern
Balochistan province.
