“The Backbone of Precision – Shailesh Hirve’s Journey at Elastochemie”
April 10, 2004—A date etched in my memory. It was the day I walked into Elastochemie, raw and eager, after working as an accountant at a CA firm. Twenty-one years later, I stand here with the same hunger to learn, but with a depth of experience that only time and dedication can build.
I believe in working at the ground level—because when you truly understand something, no one can mislead you. What I know, I know. And I’ve learned that the key isn’t just working smart, but working with precision. Automation excites me, not just for efficiency, but for perfection—because manual work carries errors, and my goal is to eliminate them, not just reduce them.
Every task I take on, I ask myself:
How can I make this simpler for the next person?
How can I create systems that remove dependency and make processes seamless?
People love making big, complicated charts—but I find joy in simplifying them, cutting down inefficiencies, and ensuring that time isn’t wasted on things a junior could do. Efficiency isn’t about shortcuts; it’s about clarity.
I’m passionate about learning—whether it’s mastering a new software or absorbing life lessons from my kids. There’s a thrill in discovering something new, no matter how big or small, and I make sure to pass that mindset on to them.
The toughest time? 2006. A crisis hit the company, and for a whole year, I lived with the uncertainty of whether I’d still have a job. But then, Mr. Sampat said something that stayed with me:
“For the next 25 years, it’s my responsibility to take care of you.”
One sentence, and I knew I was in the right place.
To this day, I believe that anyone who teaches me something—big or small—is my godfather. Because learning never stops, and neither does my commitment to giving 100%.
