Processing marking nuts manually has long been a tough, hazardous process—exposing artisans to corrosive oils and severe physical strain.

Through the "Design and Development of Deshelling Process for Marking Nut" project, researchers from IIT Bombay worked directly with ground communities to test ergonomic, safe, and efficient deshelling tools designed to protect workers' hands and boost productivity.
