IHFC continues to champion a unique way of teaching and learning through competitions, creating opportunities where young minds learn by solving real-world challenges, collaborating in teams, and applying innovation with purpose. This approach is helping nurture future-ready talent and encouraging students to think beyond classrooms.

A fabulous display of this was when India stood proud at the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026 in Geneva, where young innovators competed among 28 teams from across the world and brought remarkable recognition to the country on the global stage. By showcasing their robotics skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, India’s youth have once again proven that the nation is emerging as a strong force in the global robotics ecosystem.

IHFC, in collaboration with ITU and AI for Good, took part in grand finale of this prestigious UN-based competition focused on food security. The event reflected how robotics can serve as a powerful tool for education, innovation, and social impact.

India’s senior and junior teams made the nation proud with their outstanding performance:
- Senior Team: Sant Atulanand Convent School, Varanasi — Team The Ambitious Avengers
- Junior Team: Playto Labs, Bengaluru, Karnataka — Team Heyansh, which won the Bronze Medal

This achievement is more than a win — it is a celebration of India’s rising youth talent, IHFC’s innovative learning ecosystem, and the growing global presence of Indian robotics excellence.

A wonderful milestone for India, and a powerful reminder that when learning meets competition, exceptional innovation follows.

Thousands of breakthrough ideas are born in laboratories every year. Far fewer make it to the market.

Many promising innovations never cross the infamous "Valley of Death" the gap between research and commercialization—where ideas often stall due to limited market validation, funding, industry partnerships, and commercialization expertise.

The Lab to Market initiative by IHFC, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy India, is helping bridge this gap.

The latest 3-Day Residential Training Workshop on Translational Research – Lab to Market, held in New Delhi from 24–26 June 2026, brought together deep-tech researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and commercialization experts to accelerate the journey from laboratory to marketplace.

The workshop commenced with an Inaugural Session graced by Dr. Ekta Kapoor (DST), Mathew Walker (RELO, U.S. Embassy), Prof. Vivek V. Buwa (IIT Delhi), Ashutosh Dutt Sharma (IHFC), and Dr. Sangita Garg (IHFC).

Participants explored innovation ecosystems, commercialization pathways, business strategy, finance, IPR, design thinking, academia–industry collaboration, marketing, and fundraising through sessions led by Dr. Susha Lekshmi S.U. (IHFC), Ritu Arora & Syeda Borchmeyer (U.S. Embassy), Prof. Harish Chaudhry (IIT Delhi), Prof. Amit Sachdeva, Shilpi Jha & Bindu Sharma (U.S. Embassy), Prof. Srinivasan Venkataraman (IIT Delhi), John Khiangte (Microsoft), Dr. Manoj Kumar (STMicroelectronics), Saloni Singhal (Intel), Dr. Anurag Singh Chauhan (MDI Gurgaon), Bhoomika (Amazon), and Nishant Agarwal (IHFC).

The programme was further enriched by Innovator Stories from Gp. Capt. Manjit Singh Sidhu (BotLab Dynamics), Manoj Yadav (Peer Robotics), Ranit Chatterjee (Cobra), and Munish Kumar (Exobot), sharing their journeys from research to successful ventures.

A key highlight was the Team Pitch Presentations, where participant teams showcased commercialization strategies before an expert panel comprising Prof. P. V. M. Rao (IIT Delhi), Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, Dr. Sangita Garg, and Mathew Walker, who provided valuable feedback and mentorship.
The workshop concluded with the Awards & Certificate Distribution, and a Networking Dinner, fostering meaningful collaborations across the innovation ecosystem.
