Watt A Village The program focuses on providing clean energy access to the “unconnected” and the “poor”.

Watt-A-Village is a unique program designed to engage responsible citizens in India to create positive change and helping provide energy access for villages that are as yet unconnected. The program has been launched in India, initially, with an aim to cover 6000 villages in the first one year. The program objective is ambitious and attempts to address a challenge that remains post 63 years of inde

pendence - to ensure coverage of every village in India, and provide for an element of renewable energy/power to stir up rural economy.

Here is another hamlet in the interiors of Rajasthan, about 4 hrs from Jaipur, that could do with some electricity. Thankfully, the rains have been better this season and the heat is a little less.

We can do a quick road trip here - and are looking to see if a group of 8-10 like minded people can help. Any contacts with Royal Enfield / Hero Honda / Suzuki - or even Mercedes / Audi / BMW - a biking / SUV trip that has a fair bit of 'giveback' ?

Folks, ideas - suggestion - good, bad and ugly - all is welcome...! We wish to bring in responsible tourism - and perhaps some of these trips can be fun - and come with loads of learning about 'Bharat'.

Here is a little hamlet, in Nigohi, - near Sitapur, ahead of Moradabad, UP, that needs a bit of attention. We are keen to provide small LED table lamps to this hamlet, that has listtle access to energy if at all. It is about 170 kms- a little over 3.5 hrs from borders of Delhi in UP. If all of us pull together, the provision of 72 solar LED lamps can be met quickly. Costs : Rs. 51,000/- Contribution : Rs. 600 from 85 people.
