Beejom

Beejom Beejom is an animal sanctuary and sustainable agricultural farm located in Western Uttar Pradesh; North India. The planting is mostly done with heirloom seeds.

Beejom uses natural farming techniques to grow food. The agricultural practices at Beejom is cow-centric. All the products of the Indian indigenous cows at the farm are used to manufacture organic manure for the fields. The farm hugely promotes indian millets and traditional foods and we see that as the most obvious way of restoring the food security and health of the nation. The farm uses solar p

ower, has rain water harvesting and practices vermi-culture, A bio-gas plant and a cow-urine distillation plant will be soon installed. Our aim is to work with farmers at the grassroot level and help them restore their holdings into organic holistic farms.

The herbseller Salim — a traditional पंसारी — visits the farm every two months with a truck full of dried herbs and an onboard grinder. He prepares Ayurvedic herbal mixtures for cows, horses and other animals based on their ailments and seasonal needs. 🌿

Salim earlier travelled on a motorcycle carrying sacks of herbs. Over the years, he upgraded to a vehicle fitted with a grinding machine, allowing him to prepare fresh herbal mixtures directly at the farm itself. It’s honestly amazing to witness this old tradition still alive today.🙂

He brings with him triphala, ginger, nagarmotha, alum, saunf, tesu flower, cinnamon, pepper and many other herbs and natural ingredients used for specific ailments and general well being of animals.

At Beejom too, we grow and use many traditional remedies — Vasaka (Adathoda) for cough and fever, bamboo leaves after delivery, mustard oil and alum maalish for aches, jaggery water for recovery, turmeric and mustard oil for udder care, moringa leaves, bhoomi amla for liver support, punarnava for kidney issues, aloe vera, neem and castor oil for skin care and much more.

Prevention has always been central to traditional animal care systems. While we absolutely rely on allopathy during emergencies and complicated illnesses, many everyday wellness practices still come from native knowledge systems passed down over generations.

What a treasure trove traditional medicine truly is. 🎉🌿

If anyone wishes to connect with Salim ji or learn more about these traditional herbal mixes for animals, you can contact him at:

Making Vermicompost and so we did this video. :)))

It’s a ritual on the farm. After every season when we have some
Incredible leaf drop and some great crop waste collected on the farm, we usually just proceed to make some vermicompost with it.

This time we made some brand new long brick beds on the farm to make this vermicompost. We filled it with the season’s dried leaves, crop waste and lovely rotted cow dung from the farm.
We arranged them all in beautiful layers. Once all this happened, we brought out the worms; saved carefully generation after generation; year after year.

This vermicompost is just pure black gold. The farmers from the village are curious to see what we do and excited to know that this could be monetised. It’s so vital to create micro- businesses in rural areas. This ensures that the farmer is buffered from crop losses and keeps his home fires burning irrespective of the fate of his crop. These businesses can also be managed by his family members and that way it could possibly help from migration happening to the cities.

All children should learn about Vermicomposting. Everyone can do this in their homes too. It’s a great way to recycle compostable waste. If everyone did this, very little will reach the landfill. Can you imagine that? We would be delighted to do a workshop on this for any group anytime.

Many thoughts as usual but at the core just happy to convert all that waste into black gold. It’s precious and can build great soil naturally.

Please do choose our vermicompost. In 2 to 3 months it will be ready. With this heat it may be even faster. It will be ready in the peak of monsoon when your plants need that annual dose of goodness. Just in time.

We still have some of wonderful vermicompost from the earlier season and we also have the best farmyard manure and organic pest repellants too. Do chk it out by calling the numbers below. We deliver this across NCR.

Bunkar@Beejom- Kapas se Kapda Tak
The weaving unit at Beejom will be inaugurated formally soon.

Handloom represents the timeless, sustainable art of creating textiles entirely by hand. From scratch. Khet se kapda tak. Slow sustainable fashion.

Beyond producing fabric, it supports millions of rural livelihoods, preserves cultural heritage, and leaves a minimal carbon footprint.

The new upcoming Beejom Weaving studio; called Bunkar@Beejom is situated at the Beejom Gram Sanctuary in Tajpur, Bulandshahr. It is a beautiful celebration of the great handloom heritage we would love to honour.

Here is what makes the space special:
🍀Saving History:
The studio features reassembled looms and warping machines from an 80-year-old traditional unit in Delhi that was on the verge of being shut down.
🍀Honoring Artisans:
The looms are operated by veteran craftsmen, many over the age of 75, who are preserving the traditional knowledge of warp, weft, and charkhas.
🍀Sustainable Craft:
Continuing Beejom's mission of eco-conscious living, the studio explores weaving with natural, sustainable materials like jute, bamboo, and cane, rather than synthetic fibers.

We will be inaugurating this project very soon. It promises to be a lovely event complete with shared thoughts, celebrations, food and music. Stay Tuned.

🌱 At Beejom, even waste returns back to the soil with purpose.

Our vermicompost is made slowly and naturally using organic farm waste, cow dung, and the quiet magic of earthworms — creating living soil that nourishes our farms without chemicals. 🌾

This is how healthy food begins: from the ground up.

🌿 BEEJOM 2.0 | From Flood to Sanctuary

A lot of people still ask us — “Where is Beejom now?”
Some think we are still in Noida. Some even think Beejom no longer exists.

But in 2023, devastating floods changed everything.
Animals had to be shifted overnight, and the farm built with years of love and care suddenly became uncertain.

What followed was not the end of Beejom, but the beginning of a new chapter. 🌱

This episode traces the journey from Beejom Farm Noida to Beejom Gràm Sanctuary in Bulandshahr — and how over the last few years, this land has slowly transformed into a new home for rescued animals, conscious living, farming, and community.

From building animal shelters and common spaces to creating food forests and sustainable systems, this is the story of rebuilding Beejom from the ground up.

This is not just a story about a farm.
It is a story about beginning again.

It’s that season again.
Year after year from the same mother seed stock that we got all the way from Lakadong in Meghalaya, we have been growing this wonderful turmeric for the past 10 years.

Now it grows in the understory of our mango orchards. The leaves from the canopy quietly fall to the ground like a carpet many times of the year. Moisture and microorganisms take over and with the passing years the soil has become like coffee powder; dark moist and sweet smelling. In other words- pure gold.

In this beautiful soil that is untouched by chemicals the turmeric grows steadily with a little nudge here and there. It is harvest time now and we have harvested our fields, sorted the mother tubers, cleaned and washed them, steamed them in batches, dried them and finally made them into that powder that will reach your table.

Limited edition means we don’t have an endless supply. It’s precious, handmade, artisanal and simply pure. Having said this a little of this goes a long way and so we have enough to go around.

Choose our turmeric if you are that discerning person who loves the best. If you want to know more about how we do what we do please visit us. We would be even more delighted to show you around.

Meanwhile to order please visit our website or call our numbers. We would be glad to deliver anywhere across India.
