Imagine covering the Moon’s equator with a massive belt of solar panels stretching about 11,000 km! 🤯
This futuristic concept is called the “LUNA RING” and was proposed by Japan’s Shimizu Corporation. The idea is to collect sunlight on the Moon and transmit the energy back to Earth using microwave and laser technologies. 🚀🔭
The Moon could potentially receive sunlight without Earth’s weather and clouds interfering, allowing the system to generate power for long periods. But there’s a HUGE catch—the project is still a futuristic proposal, not a working power station being built today. 🌌
Building something this enormous on the Moon would require technologies and infrastructure far beyond what we currently have. 😳
Could the Moon one day become a giant clean-energy station for Earth? 👀👇
⚠️ Disclaimer: LUNA RING is a conceptual proposal by Shimizu Corporation, not a currently operational or government-funded Japanese project. The image is an artistic visualization and is not to scale.
