Pandaveswar Area proudly celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
The occasion was marked by the unfurling of the National Flag by Sri Amitava Bhattacharyya, Area General Manager, Pandaveswar Area.
This was followed by the reading of the message of CMD, ECL by Sri Pallav Khastgir, Area HR Manager, in the august presence of all HODs, Executives, and staff members of Pandaveswar Area.
The celebration reflected our collective commitment to the values of the Constitution and the spirit of unity and integrity.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti was solemnly celebrated at the Pandaveswar Area Office, ECL. On this occasion, Sri Amitava Bhattacharyya, Area General Manager, paid floral tribute by offering flowers and a garland to Swami Vivekananda's statue in the august presence of all Heads of Departments and staff members of Pandaveswar Area.
The programme reflected the collective respect and admiration for the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, inspiring all to uphold his values of dedication, integrity, and service to the nation.

A team of officials visited Khottadih Colliery, Pandaveswar Area today i.e on 05.11.2025 for evaluation of star rating for FY 2024-25. The assessment concluded with Khottadih Colliery being recommended for the prestigious 5star rating.

The team was constituted to thoroughly evaluate the colliery against the set parameters for the star rating, comprised of the following members:
Sri S B Prasad, OSD, CCO, Ranchi
Sri H B Singh, CCO, Ranchi
Sri D Jaya Prakash, DGM, Pachwara South Coal Block
Prof. Tanmay Dasgupta, Astt. Prof., BIT, Sindri
Sri Apurba Thakur, CGM, Safety Department, ECL
Sri Abhishek Kumar, ISO (Mining), Safety Department, ECL

The team was warmly welcomed at Pandaveswar Area by Sri Amitava Bhattacharyya, Area General Manager, Pandaveswar Area along with all HODs. Then the team proceeded for evaluation at Khottadih UG Project where they were warmly welcomed at the Colliery Conference Hall by Sri Sandip Saha, Agent, Khottadih UG along with his team members.
The evaluation process commenced with a brief powerpoint presentation at Conference Hall, Khottadih Colliery detailing all essential features of Khottadih Colliery, specifically addressing the various criteria relevant to the star rating evaluation. This provided the visiting team with a comprehensive overview of the colliery's operational efficiency, safety standards, environmental compliance and adoption of technology.

It was followed by a thorough checking of all necessary documents related to safety, production, mining practices and statutory compliance.

Based on the detailed assessment of all the modules and the related documentation, the team collectively declared that Khottadih Colliery may be recommended a 5-star mine. This prestigious rating is a testament to the colliery's hard work in maintaining high operational and environmental standards, with a strong focus on safety.

The evaluation was conducted in the presence of key executives from Pandaveswar Area, who accompanied the team and provided necessary support and context:

Sri D K Singh, General Manager (Operations), Pandaveswar Area
Sri Sanjoy Mondal, Area Engineer (E&M), Pandaveswar Area along with other HODs, Executives & Staffs of Pandaveswar Area.

The successful evaluation reflects the effort and cooperation between the Pandaveswar Area Management and the dedicated team at Khottadih Colliery.

Biodiversity awareness program was successfully organized today i.e., on 22-07-2025 at Pandaveswar Area office, Major activities of the program are as follows:
1. The program was organized at Pandaveswar Area in collaboration with Forest Dept., Govt. of West Bengal and WINGS, Durgapur.
2. The program was started by welcoming the Range Officer, Ukhra Forest Range, Paschim Bardhhaman and the representatives Wildlife Information and Nature Guide Society (WINGS), Durgapur by Sri. Amitava Bhattacharyya, Area General Manager, Pandaveswar Area
2. Employees of Pandaveswar Area were sensitized about Biodiversity and wildlife Conservation.
3. All participants were asked about wildlife sightings by them in the local area.
4. Participants were told about the steps to be taken by the locals for the reporting of wildlife activities.
5. Wildlife Survey report form was filled by all the participants in the program.

*Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2025 - Ek Ped Maa ke Nam organised at Pandaveswar Area ECL*
Today on 16-07-2025, Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2025-EK Ped Maa ke Naam program was jointly organized by BDO, Pandaveswar and Pandaveswar Area, ECL at Bilpahari Rehabilitation Site in the grace presence of Sri Narendra Nath Chakraborty, MLA Pandaveswar, Sri Sourav Chatterjee, SDO Durgapur ,Sri Anupam Khan ,DFO Durgapur, Smt. Bristi Hazra ,BDO Pandaveswar, Sri Amitava Bhattacharjee ,Area General Manager Pandaveswar Area. Sri Amitava Bhattacharjee, Area General Manager welcomed all dignitaries on the dias. Sri Narendranath Chakraborty, MLA Pandaveswar, Sri Sourav Chatterjee, SDO Durgapur , Sri Anupam Khan ,DFO Durgapur delivered his valuable speech on tree plantation, Environmental Awareness and pollution control. In the Vriksharopan Abhiyan total 500 saplings were planted at Bilpahari Rehab. Site and 1500 saplings were distributed amongst local residents. School students also felicitated by the dignitaries for painting competition organized by Bilpahari Free Primary School. Nukkad Natak was also performed by Drupadi Nritya Kala Kendra on Swachhta followed by distribution of Jute Bag , Umbrella to the school children, local residents. Environmental Awareness and pollution control, sapling plantation was done by all the guests with Sri Amitava Bhattacharjee Area General Pandaveswar Area ECL at internal OB dump site of Khottadih OCP.
On this occasion Sri DK Singh ,General Manager (OP), Pandaveswar Area and other officials of Pandaveswar Area ECL , local residents, school students were also present.

On 30.06.2025 at Pandaveswar Area as a part of ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada 2025 to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness and community involvement Nukkad Natak was performed to spread the message of Cleanliness to society at Pandaveswar Area. Plantation also done at Pandaveswar Area premises to protect our earth.
Further Sri Amitava Bhattacharjee Area General Manager felicitated drivers , Sanitation workers' ,rural female to distribute Jute Bag , T- shirt, umbrella and saplings and recognise them.DAV public school Students who excelled in the recently conducted essay ,quiz & drawing competition were also felicitated . These competitions aimed to spread awareness about cleanliness and environmental sustainability among young minds.

Today on 28.06.2025 , an integral part of ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada 2025 at Pandaveswar Area Rain Water Harvesting pit and park cleaned and made functional for storage of rain water. Cleanliness drive also conducted at Regional Hospital Pantnagar to promote scientific waste disposal and encourage environmentally responsible practices within the area. The initiative marks a significant move towards a cleaner and greener workplace.

आज दिनांक 28.06.2025 को पांडवेश्वर क्षेत्र में स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा 2025 के अंतर्गत स्वच्छता मैराथन का आयोजन पांडवेश्वर क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय से पांडवेश्वर खदान तक किया गया ,जिसमे क्षेत्र के महाप्रबंधक श्री अमिताव भट्टाचार्य, क्षेत्रीय प्रबंधक मानव संसाधन श्री फणींद्र सिंह अन्य अधिकारी ,कर्मचारी ,सफाई कर्मचारी ,ड्राइवर्स ,सुरक्षा कार्मिकों ने भाग लिया। स्वच्छता मैराथन का मुख्य उद्देश्य आस पास की कालोनियों ,गांव में स्वच्छता के प्रति लोगो को जागरूक करना था। स्वच्छता मैराथन को श्री अमिताव भट्टाचार्य क्षेत्रीय महाप्रबंधक द्वारा रवाना किया गया।
इस अवसर पर श्री अमिताव भट्टाचार्य क्षेत्रीय महाप्रबंधक द्वारा लगभग 50 ( पचास) सफाई कर्मचारियों और वाहन चालकों को टी शर्ट व जूट बैग देकर सम्मानित किया गया।
इस अवसर पर महाप्रबंधक ने कहा कि हम सभी को अपने आस पास साफ सफाई रखनी चाहिए चाहे । क्षेत्रीय प्रबंधक मानव संसाधन श्री फणींद्र सिंह ने कहा कि साफ सफाई हम सब की जिम्मेदारी है और सबको इसका पालन करना चाहिए ,तभी तो अपने देश को रोगमुक्त कर पाएंगे।

*Swachhata Rally and Cleanliness drive at Pandaveswar Area under Swachchata Pakhwada -2025*

On 27th June 2025 at Pandaveswar Area, a Rally with DAV public school Students, teachers was organized at nearby villages of Pandaveswar Area i.e. Beldanga Village to spread the message of Cleanliness and Hyniegne.Cleanliness drive also conducted at premises of DAV Public school Pandaveswar Area ECL and surrounding of DAV Public school declared as No Smoking & Plastic Free Zone.
