Ethanol in the U.S. = Innovation.
But, Ethanol in India = Scam? Let’s cut the hypocrisy!
Ethanol in India will provide:
✅ New revenue stream to farmers.
✅ India becoming self-reliant.
✅ Make India’s air cleaner
India imported 232.5 million metric tonnes (MMT) of crude oil in FY 2023–24, with the import bill standing at $132.4 billion.
Even 1% of this bill is about $1.32 billion. Every 1% reduction in dependence on oil means billions saved.
And, Supreme Court just dismissed a PIL to pause E20. The rollout stays on track.
This is hurting the global oil mafia. America isn’t happy. India is no longer buying their overpriced crude oil as it’s blending ethanol at home while buying majority from Russia at cheaper rates.
Now, Lets talk about the Nitin Gadkari controversy:
Back in 1995, his family built Purti Power & Sugar Ltd. Later The Company divided into 2. Today, every sugar mill produces ethanol because it is the only way to sustain. Also,
✅ Companies owned by Gadkari’s sons hold less than 0.6% of the national ethanol share.
✅ They don’t even feature in India’s top 25 ethanol producers.
✅ Their businesses are public, audited, and fully legal.
Still, the narrative = “empire.” Why?
Because their surname is Gadkari.
The outrage is clearly selective, politically motivated, and amplified by vested interests that fear India’s shift to ethanol. Domestic influencers attacking leaders like Gadkari without disclosing who benefits if ethanol adoption slows.
Gadkari’s family is just a drop in the ethanol ocean.
But this is not about one family, it’s about targeting the country. Foreign lobbies pushing propaganda because ethanol dents their crude sales.
Although all cars made in India after 2023 are E20 compatible but the older vehicles will have a lower milage running on E20 fuel but that’s not the complete picture. According to SIAM, India’s major automakers (Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, etc.), real-world usage of E20 shows only a 2–3% reduction in mileage, with no reported safety issues so far.
Ethanol is India’s step toward cleaner air, empowered farmers, and true energy independence.
The new Bharat is no longer bowing to oil cartels and superpowers.
