It was established in year 1949 just after India’s Independence, which gained its popularity rapidly all around. In 1952, science was started here. The College of Commerce is in under Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. Bodh Gaya is one of the popular holy places of Buddhists, where Prince Gautama Siddhartha attained enlightenment and insight under a bodhi tree (Ficus religiosa). Biotechnology is a very

recent field, which enhance their importance rapidly throughout the world. Biotechnology is a field of applied biology which gives immense freedom to explore the innovative ideas. Department of Biotechnology was started in 2001, to develop as separate teaching and research center. The foundation of the department, in College of Commerce has been undertaken with vision of developing well trained students in the esteemed field of Biotechnology. This means to provide knowledge and proper skilled techniques as simple as possible among the common people. It is named “School of Biotechnology”. (General Biotechnology) was started in 2005. As this, school aspires to produce graduates, post graduates and PhDs with outstanding caliber and aptitude in different areas of Biotechnology. Here we put special stress on practical training to students. Infrastructure in these modern areas of research is our priority.
