Nestled in the heart of a picturesque village of Bhosalewadi, Saswad, in India, ‘The Asia House’ stands as a beacon of
contemporary design. A perfect fusion of rural charm and sleek sophistication, this farmhouse boasts an open floor
plan that effortlessly bridges the gap between tradition and modernity.
The architects, in a touching tribute to the client's father, incorporated a poignant and symbolic element into the
design of the new farmhouse. They decided to use basalt stones procured from the client's father's ‘Wada- a
traditional courtyard house’, which held a special place in the family's heart due to its sentimental value.
The stone wall, constructed from these reclaimed materials, serves as the heart of the new farmhouse. The stones,
weathered and imbued with the history of the old house, now form an integral part of the new structure.
Surrounded by the contemporary elements of concrete and brick, the stone wall becomes a focal point and a point of
reflection. It's not just a wall; it's a living tribute and a symbol of continuity for the client, keeping the spirit of the father
alive in the new generation's home. The juxtaposition of old and new materials, the stone wall, and the modern
construction techniques create a powerful contrast and a beautiful blend of tradition and innovation.
The Asia House has a striking silhouette. The clean, angular lines and minimalist aesthetics create an inviting
contrast against the lush green fields that surround it. The monochromatic color theme, dominated by shades of
pristine whites, cool grays, and intricately designed brick jali wall, accentuates the farmhouse's modern sensibility
while blending harmoniously with its natural surroundings.
The open floor plan design ensures, the interior of the farmhouse is flooded with natural light.
