Let us start by saying we have nothing against robots or cyborgs or any other extremely cool and technologically super advanced stuff like that. Anti-Robot Events is a company that was born out of pure desperation to have a social life that has a little soul. In today's cyber-happy, finger-swiping world, we wanted a taste of the simpler stuff. Good friends, cold beer, great vibes, super music and
a distinct lack of gadgets and other technological buffers that make it so difficult for us to connect as human beings. We wanted to attend gigs and karaoke nights and quiz nights at our favorite pubs and not see people with their phones out and their necks at that awkward angle, while their fingers skid relentless on a keypad. We wanted to go and meet people and greet people and interact in the real world and get to know strangers because its fun and realize that we actually have a lot in common with everyone else out there. Sadly, but for a few places and a few events, we've found the scene severely lacking. So we decided to start a company that creates and curates events that have more to do with people and less to do with cyber numbers, selfies, pouting, hash tagging and all that baloney. (We're still going to do all of that to GET YOU THERE)
Now you see why its ironical? We are an event management company that's using social media to highlight, warn against, and basically disparage the cyber world, and create events in the HERE and NOW for people who can keep their gadgets in their pants for a while...er..That didn't come out right. If you're interested in making some friends, unleashing yourself from your cables and going "wireless" for a short while, come over to one of our events at several of the venues we partner with and let loose! DRINK, LAUGH, TALK, MEET, SOCIALIZE, CONNECT, LAUGH, LOVE, DRINK and mostly.... don't be a bot. PS: For more information about what we do and where we do it, you'll have to wait until we get our website up and running.(and manage to secure a domain name that sounds halfway decent (What is with THAT??!!) Till then, we will message most of you PERSONALLY when there is an event in the offing.
