Innovation Day is an annual celebration at Thermax, recognising innovators and breakthrough ideas across the organisation that help enhance our processes and solutions to drive business growth. This year, we celebrated the 21st edition of

Innovation Day with a befitting theme: 'Thermax's Path to Net Zero.' Prior jury rounds and presentations adjudged winners on the grounds of novelty, financial and social value-add, and long-term environmental impact.

The most prestigious Dr. N. D. Joshi Innovation Award was won by the Cooling team, represented by Babu P., Shriram K. S., Ganeshram S., and Navaneetha Krishnan R., for their innovation, the Hybrid Closed Loop Cooling Tower.

The Best Proof of Concept Award was presented to the RTIC team — Rohit Kumar, Sumit Joshi, Mahesh Konde, and Vinayak Patole, for their innovation, Plate-type Falling Film Evaporator integrated with MVR.

The Carbon Capture Impact and Innovation Award went to Enviro & RTIC for their Amine-based Carbon Capture Solution for Biogas Purification, developed by Kiran Chauhan, Digambar Patil, Shriraj Misal, Vipul Patil, and S. Premanand.

The Bottom-Up Innovation Award was won by Raj Bhamare from WWS for the Sensor Health & Analytics Platform.

Innovation has always been at the heart of Thermax, and this Innovation Day, like every year, was a celebration of the people and ideas shaping a more sustainable tomorrow.

With 'Thermax's Path to Net Zero' as this year's theme, our innovators put their best foot forward, presenting ideas rooted in purpose, advancing net zero ambitions, enabling greener progress, and creating meaningful impact for both people and the planet.

Organised by the Research, Technology & Innovation Centre (RTIC), the day brought together colleagues and leaders to celebrate the spirit of curiosity and innovation across Thermax.

We welcomed two esteemed guests on the occasion: Chief Guest Rajiv Narang, Senior Advisor for Energy Transition and Hydrogen at S&P Global, who spoke on Net Zero Economics for Indian Enterprise; and keynote speaker Samir Shah, Managing Partner at Peak Ventures, who spoke on how the firm is accelerating investment and partnerships for sustainability across India and globally — and how partnerships with companies like Thermax can create a win-win for the green energy ambition.

Promoter Director Pheroz Pudumjee reflected on former R&D Head, Dr. N. D. Joshi's enduring legacy and the belief that innovation will always remain central to Thermax. Chairperson Meher Pudumjee shared how the innovations she's witnessed over the years have shaped the company's progress. MD & CEO Ashish Bhandari spoke on the importance of crossing the gap between incubation and commercialisation — scaling innovation all the way to market to make it count, while Dr. Santanu Chaudhuri, Head – RTIC, emphasised why innovation matters as Thermax marks its 60th year, and what it can unlock for the years ahead.

The celebrations also recognised teams under four prestigious award categories — Best Proof of Concept Award, Carbon Capture Impact and Innovation Award, Bottom-up Innovation Award, and Dr. N. D. Joshi Innovation Award, applauding ideas that can help shape Thermax's future while contributing to India's and the world's sustainability ambitions.

With this vision, our channel business group (CBG) introduced PROPEL—a strategic initiative focused on strengthening HR practices across our Thermax Channel Associates (TCAs). The programme is designed to help our channel partners build resilient, professional, high-performing, and future-ready organisations.

As an integral part of the Thermax ecosystem, our channel partners play a vital role in our shared success. Through PROPEL, TCAs were supported with campus recruitment initiatives to help identify and onboard the right talent.
Selected candidates began their journey with a structured onboarding programme at the Thermax Learning Academy, where they were introduced to the Thermax ecosystem and welcomed with a joining kit.

By strengthening people, processes, and capabilities, PROPEL continues to enable a more empowered channel partner ecosystem—helping our partners grow with confidence.
