A conversation shaping India’s space future.

At India Science Festival 2026, join an engaging panel discussion that explores India’s space journey beyond launches and headlines, focusing on careers, innovation, education, and public participation.

The session is jointly moderated by Dhruba Chakrabarti (Founder, WhyCosmos, known for making astronomy accessible) with the panelists being Prof. Yashwant Gupta (Director, NCRA–TIFR, a leader in radio astronomy and scientific institution-building), Dr. Srimathy Kesan (Founder, SpaceKidz India, championing space education and student satellites), and Srinath Ravichandran (Co-Founder, Agnikul Cosmos, driving India’s private launch-vehicle revolution).

The discussion opens with personal reflections on what first sparked their interest in space and the moments in India’s space journey that inspired them most. It then turns to students and parents, addressing how space careers begin today, the challenges that remain, and why the sector now welcomes engineers, designers, educators, policy-makers, and entrepreneurs alongside scientists.

The conversation broadens to India’s global ambitions in space and how the nation plans to lead through innovation and collaboration. As the session closes, the moderators reflect on the role of education, awareness, and public participation in shaping the next decade of India’s space future, leaving the audience with clear takeaways and inspiration.

Join us at ISF 2026 and be part of a conversation shaping India’s path to the stars.

Growing hope for a warming planet.

Climate change is no longer a distant concern, it is shaping our present and defining our future.

Understanding how nature can help restore balance is essential if we are to act meaningfully. At India Science Fest 2026, ‘Carbon Capture Champions: Ancient Art Meets Climate Science’ brings climate science closer to people by blending ancient art with modern environmental science.

This immersive experience guides visitors through creating carbon-sequestering kokedamas (Japanese moss balls), demonstrating how nature-based solutions can act as powerful carbon sinks. Through interactive displays and real-time CO₂ sensors, participants will explore key concepts such as carbon sequestration by bryophytes, phytoremediation and air purification, soil carbon engineering, climate tipping points, and the importance of positive feedback loops in combating climate change.

Facilitated by Pialy Ghanekar from Cell Savvy Group, the initiative is driven by a vision to empower communities with practical, science-backed climate solutions rooted in nature. Visit, learn, and be inspired to take real climate action—because the future of the planet begins with informed choices today.
