Iron ore extracted • Original leasehold area 1435.300 hectares.

• India's first iron ore mines at Gorumahisani dispatched iron ore to the steel works at Jamshedpur in 1911.

• Iron ore production of tata steel went upto 0.4 million tonnes almost 65% of total iron ore production in India

• Engaged 8500 – 10000 workers at the mines.

• Premature surrender in 1968 and granted in favour of M/S Ghanashyam Misra and Sons Private Limited in 1970.
