Chemical Engineering Students' Society - IIT Roorkee It is a students' organization of the Department of Chemical Engineering, I.I.T. Roorkee which deals with all the issues and problems related to students.

“ChESS”, The Chemical Engineering Students' Society, is a students' organization of the Department of Chemical Engineering, I.I.T. Roorkee. Since its inception in 1999, it has been playing a significant and enthralling role in the Department acting as an interface between the students and the experienced faculty, thereby, removing the gap between them. The various positions in this distinguished o

rganization along with the current position holders are:-

1. Convener :- Anurag Kumar Jaiswal
2. Co-convener :- Roman Deore

ChESS deals with the problems of the students, analyzes them and place them before the faculty for their advice. There is a representative of every year from B.Tech and M.Tech and one representative of the Research Scholars to handle the corresponding problems and the queries of the students. Meetings are then held to discuss the various problems faced and the ways to eradicate them.

Mr. Gaurav Kumar, from the batch of 2015. He has worked for a year in ITC before starting his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota in 2016. His research focus has been on heterogeneous catalysis and reaction engineering. Recently he defended his thesis and started working as a research scientist at DuPont.

Mr. Arvind Ganesan, from the batch of 2016. He has been working on 'controlled demolition of metal-organic frameworks and reconstruction into functional new materials.

It will be a short panel discussion where you all can ask your doubts about careers in Chemical Engineering and various prospects associated.

Hey there people! We hope that each one of you is doing great in the difficult phase we’re currently in.
We, the members of ChESS, are conducting an internship talk and invite all of you to attend this internship talk in large numbers, and understand the intricacies of the internship world to prepare yourselves for a better tomorrow.

All of your doubts regarding internships in the software and finance field will be addressed in the talk.

Hello guys, CHESS IIT Roorkee is organising a Case study competition from 7-9th Feb. The theme will revolve around industrial accidents and their preventions.

We will be releasing the problem statement on 7th Feb at 6:30 PM, further details will be provided on the venue.
