Dated: 23.01.2026
Subject: Advertisement for UT Cadre posts belonging to Health and Medical
Education Department, Jammu & Kashmir.
Posts advertisement and eligibility only BSc Radiation Technology.

Let ISRT J&K Chapter, first seek clear clarification from state Allied heathcare council SAHPC and The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on whether this is meant only for Radiotherapy or also includes Radiodiagnosis. Once clarified, we will inform everyone.

That said, the absence of a clear, separate policy for two distinct professions is a serious concern. This ongoing ambiguity cannot continue under NCAHP act 21,If the issue is not addressed properly, we will all have to take a strict and united stand.

🟩 Important Update from NCAHP (Dated: 19-11-2025)

Brief and clear explanation of the official communication issued by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) regarding admission eligibility for Allied & Healthcare undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

1. NCAHP has officially notified 13 curricula
These include different courses under the Allied & Healthcare professions Radiography, Medical Laboratory, OT Technology, etc.
These curricula will be implemented from the 2026–27 academic year.

2. NEET Made Mandatory for Allied & Healthcare UG Courses

As per the NCAHP Act 2021, the entry criteria for most Allied & Healthcare undergraduate courses will now require NEET qualification.

This means:
• After 12th class (Senior Secondary level),

• Must appear in NEET as a basic eligibility criterion,
along with other criteria specified in the curriculum.

So, NEET Mandatory from Academic Year 2026–27 for our profession and other allied courses.

3. Instructions to Education Boards

The letter directs CBSE, ICSE, State Education Boards and UTs to:
• Inform all schools and institutes about NEET now being required for Allied & Healthcare courses.
• Ensure students preparing for future admissions are aware and start preparing accordingly.

4. Purpose Behind This Change

This reform aims to:
• Bring Allied & Healthcare professions at par with other core healthcare pathways.
• Ensure high-quality intake, uniform standards, and recognition of our profession.
• Strengthen the identity and dignity of Radiographers, Technologists, and Allied Professionals under the NCAHP Act.

21/11/2025

We are Honoured to see our World Radiography Day Celebration highlighted in the media.
This recognition belongs to every Radiographer, Technologist, Educator, and Student who works tirelessly behind the scenes for patient care.
