Most pharma manufacturers optimise their granulators. Very few question their dryer.

But in a typical wet granulation suite, the Fluid Bed Dryer is where batches wait sometimes for hours, before they can move to compression.

In 1979, our team installed four machines at Ambee Pharma in Bangladesh: a Planetary Mixer, a Multi-Mill, a Sifter, and a Fluid Bed Processor.

A few weeks ago, we received photographs from their factory floor. All four machines are still standing. Still running.

That represents 47 years of shifts, of medicines mixed, milled, and dried. It represents decades of patients quietly served by equipment that simply refused to stop working.

The nameplate on the Multi-Mill still reads: "Gansons Limited, Bombay-55 - Engineers to the Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry." Weathered and faded, but still there.

We’ve grown a lot since 1979. We have introduced new machines, new technologies, and entered new markets. But one thing hasn't changed: we build things meant to be trusted.

HIV is no longer a terminal illness. That change didn’t happen overnight. It took decades of science, persistence, and the right manufacturing systems to turn discovery into a treatment that could truly reach people.

Here’s a timeline worth remembering:

1987 - AZT became the first antiretroviral therapy, giving patients a real chance where there was once very little hope.

1995 - Combination therapy changed everything. By using multiple drugs together, it became possible to stay ahead of the virus and improve long term outcomes.

2001 - Efavirenz and Nelfinavir, key drugs in this approach, were brought to life on the Ganscoater.

These were not just scientific breakthroughs. They depended on reliable manufacturing, on equipment that could coat tablets with absolute consistency and at scale, making treatment more accessible while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
