日本には、世界で最も古い企業が存在します。578年に創業した金剛組という建設会社で、なんと1,400年以上の歴史を持っています。この会社は、聖徳太子の命により、朝鮮半島から招かれた職人たちによって設立されました。その最初の仕事は、大阪にある四天王寺という仏教寺院の建設でした。金剛組は、日本最古の木造建築である法隆寺の建設にも携わったと言われています。幾多の戦争、地震、火災、そして経済危機を乗り越え、会社は職人の技と家族経営の精神によって存続してきました。2006年には財政難により高松建設の子会社となりましたが、金剛組という名前と伝統は今も受け継がれています。
