मेरी राय में यह कहना ज़्यादा सही होगा कि छपरा वासी बेशर्म बनते जा रहे हैं—ऐसा सामान्यीकरण करना ठीक नहीं है। हर ज़िले में जागरूक और जिम्मेदार लोग भी होते हैं। लेकिन यह ज़रूर सच है कि “छपरी” जैसे शब्द का छपरा से जोड़कर मज़ाक या बदनामी होना गलत है, और इस पर सामूहिक रूप से आवाज़ कम उठती दिखती है।

अगर लोग चुप रहते हैं, तो गलत धारणाएँ मज़बूत होती हैं। ज़रूरत है कि छपरा के लोग अपनी पहचान, संस्कृति, शिक्षा और सकारात्मक कामों को सामने लाएँ और साफ़ तौर पर कहें कि किसी अपमानजनक शब्द से पूरे ज़िले को जोड़ना स्वीकार्य नहीं है। आवाज़ उठेगी, तभी सोच बदलेगी।
