We are pleased to congratulate Dr. Awaneesh Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, IIT (BHU), and his student Mr. Devendra Kumar Verma on the publication of their Research Letter in Physical Review E (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1103/zl77-mx75), a prestigious journal of the American Physical Society (APS).
Their study reveals that reversible chemical reactions can act as a powerful control mechanism during fluid separation. While immiscible fluids naturally push apart, chemical conversion continuously mixes them back together, creating a dynamic balance that halts growth and locks the system into a stable, tunable structure. Remarkably, the final pattern is universal — independent of how the process begins — and its size can be precisely controlled by adjusting the reaction rate.
Dr. Singh leads the Multiscale Soft Matter Simulation (MSS) Lab, focusing on interdisciplinary research in computational soft matter, particularly in polymer dynamics and stimuli-driven phase segregation. This achievement, which was selected through a highly competitive process, highlights the dedication of his team to impactful research and underscores IIT (BHU)’s commitment to excellence and global engagement in science and innovation.
