For the Effi-Cycle competition, Team ThunderBolt plans to design and fabricate a energy efficient human cum-battery powered two-seater trike. Efforts are to create a robust, safe and economical design that promotes greener future. Team targets consist of :
Providing flexible and independent power transmission to integrate various powers,
Comfortable manoeuvring: low centre of gravity, smooth steer
ing, electronics systems,
Swift trike with considerable acceleration, braking. Ensuring ergonomics and safety. The team ThunderBolt comprises of ten III year undergraduate engineering students from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Team members do not just come up with ideas, but they also incorporate them in practical scenario. The background research work done by the team consists of both, the inspirations from present trikes and innovations based on needs. Team members are divided in various departments: Designing, Steering, Transmission, Braking, Suspensions and Electrical Systems. Being only ten, team members themselves choose to work in those departments based on their interests and abilities. Team has meetings almost everyday. Main purpose is to discuss each other’s’ research and ideas. These meeting increase the work productivity by promoting group discussions on every parts, features and innovations. Furthermore, it creates a fun learning environment.
