Severe weather events (icing and wildfires) are a threat to power grids across the globe - however, the very thing that makes transportation of electric power efficient (hi-voltage) means that grid operators don't have accessible power along their lines for energizing monitoring equipment (cameras, weather data and more). We've solved that problem with a "first in industry" patented power harvesting technology.

All of our stations, commonly installed in remote locations, have to endure harsh weather conditions for years. Our ionized aluminium casing is light, durable and provides great protection to the delicate equipment inside the station.

We installed a Laki Power monitoring station on top of Ålvik mountain, Norway, where winter storms create perfect conditions for ice and snow to accumulate on power lines. If not properly addressed, this can lead to outages or even downed lines and tower collapses.
