The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is about promoting full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls.
https://www.unesco.org/en/days/women-girls-science

GRÓ GTP is strongly aligned with that mission and presents an opportunity for women in developing countries to stand up against stereotypes and discrimination that hold women and girls back from careers in science, tech, and engineering.

Here are some of our fellow scientists in their work!

Congratulations to Dr Tingting Zheng from China on successfully defending her PhD thesis in Earth Sciences 🎊

Dr Tingting conducted excellent research that will undoubtedly contribute to significant advances in geothermal development of her area in Shandong, China.

Her opponents were the renowned Dr. Eva Schill, Geothermal Systems Program Lead, Energy and Geoscience Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA and Dr. Alper Baba, Professor at Department of International Water Resources, Izmir Institute of Technology, Türkiye. Dr. Alper is a former GTP Fellow and both have been Guest Lecturers at GTP. They both expressed that in her very extensive research, Dr Tingting showed excellent skills covering reservoir engineering as well as geology and geochemistry, and that her work is a highly valuable contribution to the scientific understanding of the region’s geothermal potential.

As we congratulate Tingting, the doctoral committee, and her supportive supervisor and former director of GTP, Dr Gudni Axelsson on this excellent achievement for the geothermal community, we look forward to following her continued work and the impact she will make in the future.

GTP proudly announces the 7th PhD fellow Tingting Zheng 🎉
