Ferrari World Abu Dhabi's Family Zone brings the concept of Integrated Rides to life 🎢

Here, a Junior Coaster, Windstarz, Speedway and Sky Tower 15 come together within the same area, creating a space designed to be enjoyed seamlessly by families and young visitors.

The concept of Integrated Rides is built around this very idea: not simply placing multiple attractions in the same location, but designing an experience where rides, theming and spatial planning work together to make every area more engaging and immersive.

A huge thank you to Herve Lux, Nicole Dekker and the Parc Spirou Provence team. They hosted Antonio Zamperla Spa and our guests from the French Park Association last month so we could show the new Naruto area Konoha Land. Featuring our first Family Thrill Launch and a Nebulaz, the day was a blast. Some of the visitors’ favorite parts of the experience was the behind-the-scenes tour showing off:

Wheel Launch: Our system that requires 2/3 the power and installation costs of an LSM.

Switch Track: We updated the system used on Top Thrill 2 for changing tracks after Launch 1.

Vehicles: The theming on the beautiful trains for Kyubi Unchained.

Choose your fighter: Lift or Launch.

Either way you will enjoy some of the most comfortable trains in the attractions industry.

-Wide row-to-row distance.
-Easy to lower restraints.
-Comfortable and accommodating seats.
-Load at station level.

The Lightning trains are designed to achieve the THC, not just a small fraction of it.

Z60: There is a lot to examine as we detail our 60 years of history. One turning point for the Roller Coaster Business Unit was the opening of Wild West Mine Train at Ocean Park in Hong Kong. Situated in the amazing mountainous southern end of the park, it offered spectacular views.

It also was one of the largest roller coaster projects the company has worked on to date. Integrating engineering teams we worked together to design and manufacture one of the companies at that time.

The parks we work with are partners, not buyers. On Cedar Point's opening day we look back on a unique and challenging engineering project that we could not be more proud of- Top Thrill 2.

Working with executives like Tim, the entire Six Flags corporate maintenance and construction team, and the Cedar Point crew we created thrills in a new way. Working hand-in-hand is the only way something this massive succeeds.

From the record-breaking backwards launch, the straight spike and the Top Hat with amazing airtime, there's a lot about TT2 to love.

More celebration of our 60 years! In 1980 we built the Tornado, a basic powered coaster, and two years later we brought a team together to create an improved version, the Dragon Coaster.

Antonio Zamperla Senior felt the ride should fit on the space that represented a standard fairground ride size. That became the key design constraint.

“We kept the curves into and out of the station from the Tornado and re-designed the rest, said Gianni Cicchelero, a longtime Zamperla employee. “We built the hill first as our tallest point and worked out the rest of the design from there. It was more design-as-you-go than how we do things today. First the outer rail was built on scaffolding, then the inner rail, and finally we fabricated the supporting structure,” he recalled.

The Dragon Coaster, now called the Powered Coaster, is still sold today. Some of our most recent installations are at Gyeongju World in South Korea and Dreamworld in Australia.

We are thrilled that a Antonio Zamperla Spa Twister Coaster, Nebulaz and Flying Carousel will debut at Six Flags Great Adventure this year. This will be the Twister Coaster's third home. Do you know the other two places it has spun?

We have had to fit coasters into a lot of small spaces. Two projects that were complicated engineering endeavors were the Twister Coaster at the Mall of Istanbul (Turkey) and the Moto Coaster at Adventureland (U.A.E.).

The Twister Coaster project was a custom design where we had to weave our track in, around and through rides and scenery. However, that was not the most complicated part. For this project we had to anchor the ride on the concrete floor beams and minimize the amount of vibration the foundations transferred to the building. We used an elevated anchor bolt cage and worked closely with the developers to match column locations to the building’s grid structure.

For the Moto Coaster the main concern was concentrated foundation loads. Here in required locations, we included steel grids as part of our deliverables. They sat under each column. These changed the point loading for each column from one location to several per column, which made the project feasible.

With 25 dedicated engineers the Zamperla Roller Coaster Business Unit is working on some crazy custom designs as we speak.
